well ive been on the ph checking prices with 2 kub dealers to get the stuff for a complete 50hr service.the kub dealer i bought my tractor from wants $379 for everything.the break down is as follows $33.90 for 2 gals kub motor oil, hydro oil is $210 for kub hydro oil hrydro filters are $46.90 an $73.95 oil filter $12.66.local dealer wanted $373.50 for everything, the break down as follows CASEIH motor oil $36 hydro oil is $246 hydro filters are $41 ea oil filter is $10.50 $374 total.the only thing that bothers me is using CASEIH oil insted of kubota oil.the local dealer is 20mi from me,an they are $5 cheaper even tho their hydro oil is $12 a 5 gal higher, plus they are about $40 cheaper on the hydro filters.

I used Case IH oil in one of our Kubotas for several years as we also had a Case CX80 and the dealer handled Case and Kubota.

I have been flamed for it too, but I just can't see keeping specific oil for Kubota, John Deere, Massey Ferguson and Case.

the only brand specific things ive ever used are oil filters an hydo filters.i used rotella T oil an no name hydro oil in tractors.

Me too, I tend to stick with brand specific filters.

I use WIX filters, Rotella Oil & Mystic Hydraulic oil from Tractor Supply, I've used it in both my previous New Hollands and both my Kubota's. The Mystic brand hydro oil is approved by all the major tractor brands and lists them on the back. My Kubota dealer even said the other brands would be fine to use.

I see no reason to using the brand specific fluids unless you want to just waste your money!

thanks guys its not a question of wasting money, I just want to make sure I'm doing things right with a new HST tractor.this will be the 1st time in my life that we've ever drained an changed the hydro oil on a tractor.plus I'm really trying to do things right.

Many people make this seem way more difficult to do right than it needs to be. It is a straight forward process and "in my opinion" nothing magical about any brand of oil/lubricant just so long as it is good quality. We are on our fifth HST, so far as I can remember and all are doing well having used different oils/lubricants and once or twice going over on a service due to circumstances beyond our control.

You might want to check with your dealer to see if they have any regularly scheduled "sale days", our has one every spring in which all parts are 15% off with the exception of lubricants, so we buy a years worth of filters and such for all of our tractors.

That's a good way to save . Our's had 20% off everything ( except the
tractors/RTV  ) last saturday. The fuel filters were $2 because
no one buys 'em . Bought parts/fluids for a couple of years of services on
my BX , neighbour's GR2100 and BX##30
