Do you plan to operate in thick brush or potentially wooded areas because the BX has a rather vulnerable hydrostatic fan in the transmission made of plastic that can break easily. Yeah, its a $10 fan and Kubota has a "guard" there that is supposed to protect it but if you break the fins off the fan via a stick then it is a $600 repair by Kubota to fix as the fan is not accessible through the bottom of the tractor. :( I know this from experience, my neighbor's BX24 had it's fan destroyed and it is in need of a replacement which involves major tractor surgery. :( From what I know the 1026R and 1023E do not have a hydrostatic fan so you don't have to worry about any issues with them. Kubota notified me that they are working on a solution for their hydrostatic fan for the BX26 whenever that comes out but that is due a long way off from today. :( I would be cautious with the hydrostatic fan, i have attached some pictures to give you an idea. The first is my neighbor's BX24's fan and the others are from another member here on TBN which shows his BX25 all apart so you can see what it takes to get to the fan. :confused2: I am not trying to bash Kubota, I like them as much as I like all the other brands, I just want you to be aware of a potential issue on the BX25, that's all. :)

I just recieved my skid plates. Mowing season is about to start. Next weekend will the weekend my little Jinny gets her make over.

#1 - Lose the FEL
#2 - Install the Bro-Tek skid plates
#3 - Install the mulch kit
#4 - Install the mower

I am a firm believer in the Kubota BX line. After the winter from **** and minimal training I was able to get my wife to maintain the entire neighborhood snow free. I own a BX2360, so a BX25 with no BH.

These are powerful machines. Some one somewhere called the BX line the "Queen of mowing" Kubotas are the lightest of the SCUTs and this helps while mowing, even if you leave the FEL and BH on.
