Is Ventrac tough enough?

OK, that hill looks just like one of my smaller ones. You are lucky you have a lake at the bottom, mine just gets steeper. I bet the kids love to toboggan on that bad boy. Looks like a fun ride.

Can you go sideways with the Ventrac on that btw?

Sideways is actually a bit easier. Articulated machines don't turn around as easy as a zero turn, so that is why I usually mow it long ways. It takes all 31 horses of the VT to push that 84" mower up the hill, cutting long grass. The PT1460 w/ wide tires and the 90" mower can get up the hill (barely), but the tires tend to slip, and they rip the lawn up pretty bad.

Before I had the VT, I tried to mow it with my John Deere zero turn. Talk about a toboggan ride... lol

Build a little ski lift or drive people up with the VT and you got yourself a great hill for sledding, skiing, snowboarding and tubing  Beautiful home btw

Oh even better idea! Build the snow up to that 'dinosaur egg' as MossRoad put it and make a ramp

Nice mowing AB! First time of the year? That is some impressive striping

Thanks!!!

Here is a view of the other side of the pond, from the porch. This side was the second mow of the year, as the grass is much more established here. The Ventrac does nice striping, as it has a full width steel roller on the back of the mower. This was mowed on Saturday, and the striping still looks good. Bad thing with the striping is that you have to mow back and forth, or else it looks like crap. Takes a little longer, as you have to turn around after each pass. No Zamboni patterns....

Yeah lots of fish in there. Run popups with shiners for Pickerel, or jig for Crappies. Thanks Moss. In another week or so I will be jumping in for a swim.
