Thanks, I was browsing the net earlier and saw the tractorhouse page with other 5610's for sale. I've found a few other sites also and have talked to my banker and have recieved some info from you guys. Just need to see how the bidding goes.

Glad that helps. I don't know if you have much experience at auctions, but I would suggest that you make up your mind BEFORE you go, as to how much you're willing to pay. If not, you could wind up paying way too much. Good luck with it, and let us know what happens.

BTW, if you don't have a lot of experience with these tractors, just realize that these are "utility" tractors, not cadillacs. They are powerful, big, loud, and maybe a little rough around the edges, but they work. I had a 2001 model 7710S for 7 years. It was a good tractor, and it was a "bull" of a tractor, but it is not a "luxury" model.

FWIW, I sold my 7710S MFWD with the heavy duty 7710 FEL, bucket and spear, for $18,000. It had about 1700 hours on it.

Definitely not looking to buy a cadillac tractor. I just need a solid tractor and from what I can tell, the 5610 will fit my needs just fine. 4x4 would be nice, but my other tractor was 4x2 and it did just fine. If I was on the tractor all day cutting and baling hay, a cab would be nice, but since I don't, it's just not needed. There are so many people in the area that I live that cut and bale hay at a fairly reasonable price that I don't feel the need to invest in equipment to do that. The main job this tractor is needed for is moving hay bales. Of course I'll use it for shredding, spraying, fertilizing, etc... The step up in price to get a 4x4 tractor with cab is just not one I feel the need to make.

I do have a pretty good idea of where I would stop bidding, I have some auction experience and will not go higher than what I am hoping to get this tractor for. There are other tractors out there if the bidding on this one gets to strong for me. Regardless, I'll check back in with the results.

yep.. the 's' series are plain jane no frills, open station, straddle the trans type of machines. all work.. no play or chrome.. I love my 7610s

they was the economy model of the 40 series and ts series tractors but imo a better tractor than them also

Well, the bidding was too strong for me. The tractor kicked off at 12,500 and sold at 17500. I'll keep looking.

I actually had concerns about the hours shown, 890, versus the tire wear (not a whole lot of tread left on 'em). To me, and a few others at the sale, it seemed the tires had more than 890 hours worth of wear. The tractor ran just fine and everything worked, was not a bad tractor. Regardless, I had decided that 14000 would be as high as I would go and was out of the bidding early.

that was pretty high for that tractor i have seen 6610 cab air with loader sell for 11500 quite often and seen 6640's with loader 4wd bring 14000

I'm looking to buy as soon as I can find the right deal. Need a 60-70 hp tractor with loader. If you see something for sell that would be in that price range (10-14k) could you let me know? I don't have a problem going to Louisiana to buy.
