Poll: Your satisfaction with your HST transmission

I also like my HST. I have about 400 hours on it without single issue. I decided on HST after talking to a mechanic who maintained fork lifts for some big warehouse. He told me they put thousand of hours on the fork lifts with only few problems. He also recommended to get tractor with Kubota 1505 engine because they use them in refrigerated semis and run them also thousands of hours. They are supposedly indestructible. My tractor has three ranges and even in the second it runs out of traction before the tractor runs out of power. So the loss of power is mute issue. My has forward/reverse pedals side by side and three brake pedals. Split brakes on the left and one acting on both wheels on the right by the forward/reverse pedals. My HST doesn't whine at all but it might be that me hearing is not what it used to be.

No comment on that.

But I've plowed ground, cultivated, mowed grass, used the snowblower, used the FEL, rotoltilled......and I run out of traction, long before I run out of power. That's why I gave a 10 rating............of everything I've previously owned..........this Massey Hydro is proving to be the best.:thumbsup:

Another thing about HST is you rarely use the brakes. You just release the pedal, tractor stops, press and latch the parking brake (it bypasses the seat switch), hop off to hook up something, hop on, tap the brake to unlatch it, press HST pedal and go.

Slow and steady wins the race on mine. My rabbit gets winded pretty quick.

I think when you operate at the right rpm's, you can't hear it.

Not trying to hijack, but I'll give my CVT a 10. I had 2 hydro units before the CVT and would rate them at about a 9. Although I loved my hydro tractors, I will never own one again.

What work were you doing, and what tractors were you using.......just out of curiosity?
