Re: JR Landworks- New to mulching!

I just got into this as a suppliment to my surveying buisness. Found a cat272c with a bradco mm60 head for a good price. We picked up the machine a couple of weeks ago and it has been running over 50% of the time. I am happy with the setup and the head seems to work well. Our biggest problem is keeping air filters clean in this drought. I also discovered to not even attempt to mulch dry oak. I also expected it to mulch youpon to a smaller size. We will learn over time to be better and get more efficient, but right now people are willing to pay us to play. Good luck.

Good luck with your muching business. Do not be afraid of the CDL... take the test and get it done with..It is quite easy to pass compared to college tests. The road test will be easy too with a pick up and gooseneck. (the physical is up to you).

I run a PT100 3 years old and pull it with a chipped 2002 F 350 dually and 5 ton trailer(s) . It works well. I am runnig the Fecon head like you have.

Re: JR Landworks- New to mulching!

Thanks guys for the additional information! every bit helps. Im going in to take the CDL practice test next week.

This past weekend my brother and i got some more seat time. He picked it up really fast and was noticibly faster and better after just a few hours running it. The machine ran great and was very impressive. It quickly took down a 6" DBH willlow oak down to the stump; what a sight that was. :D We had a few small issues; mostly o-rings blowing out because of neglect by the previous owner (the fittings were overtightened). We also found out the fuel gauge is not working.. so i need to diagnoise that :confused2: Here are a few pics from the weekend.

BTW we are in the process of insuring our company and any tips on insurance companies or the process would be a great help!

Re: JR Landworks- New to mulching!

Is the 4 inch draintile around the hoses a factory option?

We use the same thing on our T320 and Gyro Trac. Works better that hose wrap and is a lot cheaper.
