Battery Powered Weed Eaters

I was in a southern states the other day and saw a flyer touting stihls new battery trimmer. They didnt have one, but the thing looked pretty tough. I generally like all their stuff. I'd at least price and compare

I own three of their weedeaters and four chainsaws. Two saws are over 25 years old. But the most amazing thing is my fs76 weedeater I bought while in high school. Twenty years I've been using it. Never needed anything but fuel and string

I just looked at their web site. There is no info on it yet about battery operated trimmers but it sounds interesting.

I looked last night when I got home. It's under trimmers/brushcutters and is in the bottom right. Lithium ion.

It's a little saltier than I expected. I think it was $260. Dang

I still couldn't find it so I did a search on Stihl's web site and found the problem. I was talking weed-eaters and you were talking hedge-trimmers.

I was talking weedeaters. I'm using a phone now. When I get home I'll see if I can post the page. The page it was on had eight different styles on it. The lithium ion was bottom right. Looks nice. Thinking if I got one maybe the ol lady would kick in a little sweat equity

The edger I use is glyphosate, but I do have a 10 year old Stihl FS85 to take care of anything that survives. Runs fine in the spring on what remains in the fuel tank from last fall.

I have used the new battery powered trimmer from Stihl. The lithium battery gets about 45-60 min use before recharging. There are two different chargers. A slow one and a fast one.
A really neat system but very pricy. Trimmer with battery and charger in the $500 range.
The good thing is Stihl has a hedger and is working on a chain saw and some other attachments to use with this same battery.
