Getting rid of moles

Moles don't chew gum.

That may be, but after 15 sticks of juicy fruit, which they apparently enjoyed so much they invited their friends and family to join them in my yard, I've decided to not buy any more of that for them.

Have moles in the garden, wife is on a rampage, any ideas on how to get rid of them? Thanks

Wife on rampage. If I was a mole I'd be moving

If we're talking moles and not pocket gophers, the metal loop traps work awesome. Press a thumb down on top of one of their tunnels. Set the loop trap in place with the trip mechanism located in the depression you made with your thumb. When they come through to repair the tunnel, they get crushed by the loop. Works awesome. Trapped one last week that way.

Thought I'd describe the above because the type of trap makes all the difference. I've used the spike traps in the past and never had any luck.

Re: Getting rid of *&%#@#% moles

Beenthere,

Let us know how that works out. Good Luck!

Well, I applied the grub killer, and as of today I am quite impressed with the lack of mole activity in the 4 places they have been a nuisance. I found one tunnel along my woods, but that was nothing compared to the dozens of tunnels prior to applying the grub killer (and those were fresh runs this spring).
Another area that I fought them heavily last fall along the neighbors farm field with considerable activity this spring has dropped down to nothing the last couple weeks.

Needless to say I am impressed so far with the ease of ridding my lawn of moles. I will hope it continues. I have another bag of grub killer to spread with the broadcast spreader if needed.

There is only one way that is to trap them, I've tried to kill the grubs myth they eat earthworms, and you can't kill all of them. get some Victor mole (sizzor type) traps, they work. Took 17 out of 2 acre front yard last year this year only had one.

I have a couple of them. Have had good success and have had lousy success. Depends on a few variables, all of which I apparently have not figured out.
The easiest for me so far is the grub control. But prolly too early to tell if that will continue to be successful.
As said before, I've also tried the bubble gum, and the juicy fruit, and have used the poison worms/grubs. Have had apparent success with the poison grubs but nothing apparent with the gum.

Even standing over the runs with a pitch fork works sometimes. They must be able to move real fast in those tunnels, as I've tried to pitch them out quickly when seeing the ground move and get nothing.

So I think one can take their pick of weapons and be just partially successful.

Thanks for the info...

do they tend to go deeper during the day?

Spring trap hasn't been triggered yet...

That said, I noticed two foxes that are probably living in our yard (they have before, but one was killed and haven't seen the other for a while) and coming home the other night, I saw the pair and one had something in its mouth. Didn't look very large, but was grayish in color, I thought. Would foxes eat moles?
