Neighbors wild ride, backwards

I have learned this lesson a few times. I always have someone stand on the brakes with the trans in neutral when I load my L39. It picks the back of my 2500 right up off the ground. Pretty amazing actually.

All ramps don't have the stands because some are designed to slide into stowage on the trailer. Not all live on the back 24/7.

I can think of a view things that this is but " Pretty amazing actually" is not one of them.

I use 6x6 blocks under the back of the trailer. They only let the trailer squat a couple of inches. Works like a charm. I suspect my neighbor will be using them from now on.

just stick a piece of 6x6 under the rear ends.....keeps the truck from lifting.

I guess my tractor is not heavy enough to cause this. I have heard of guys welding 3 ton trailer stands to the back sides of the trailers and just cranking them down before loading and unloading.

I find it pretty surprising actually, never would of thought it possible if not for the first hand accounts here.

Looking at the geometry of the set up, even with my 20 footer it's not a 1 to 1 ratio. so on shorter trailers it's even less. with a CUT backing up there could only be ~ 1000 pounds up lift on the truck. but I guess that's enough for an empty pick up or SUV.

My L39 is ~7k pounds.

I don't even need ramps to take the machine off. By the time the rear wheels are on the beaver tail, the back of the trailer is touching the ground and the rear axle of the truck is "flying".

The term "All men are created equal" frequently comes into question on a typical boat ramp!

A few years ago my boss and I were riding motorcycles on a nice early spring day and really had no place to go. The boss, being a life long boater, said lets stop at the boat ramps and have a laugh. :D We got there about 4:00 and lots of folks were getting off the water before the temps started dropping. All I can say is our sides hurt after about 30 minutes.
