A 4wd tractor to me isn't much of a real tractor. I believe a good farmer can get the job done with a 2wd without 4wd, and all the lazy features available today. I wouldn't be suprised if they came out with a button that said, easy, or autofarm.. If that was the case, forget the honor of being called a farmer. Isn't a Farmer called a farmer because he farms ? If it is all a bed of roses, being called a farmer is like being a poser, or fraud.. How many old timers failed at farming with 2wd tractors, or even draft horses, and mules for that matter ? They could look at these big nice machines, and say.. " Cheaters ! " I'll show you a real farmer !
" A man of hard work possess great power "
" As for me, and my house, we shall serve the Lord "

Work by the sweat of your brow, know what it's like to really work... Big nice ac tractors, soft chairs, etc.. Sheww ! Men, to pansies... Maybe when they take a break, they rest with their hands on their hips like women do.. Strengthen the feeble knees, and the slothful hands.. I'm just saying, obviously people done just fine with 2wd tractors, and draft horses, and I don't recall too much complaining. If it gets stuck, pull it out. If it gets stuck again, pull it out again. If it gets stuck the third time, go get it out.. After you get use to it, hard work will become second nature to you.
Good answer so far.I enjoy good hard work...

It has yet to be mentioned that front tires for a 4wd will be more money than 2wd front tires. And they would be heavier to lift while changing them. This could be the icing on the proverbial cake.![]()
Had to take one off my 5500 4wd, yes it was heavy, But I jacked up the left side of the front axle, took off the wheel, rolled it on the FEL forks, lifted it up, backed up my truck and rolled it in back of my truck, took it to the tire shop, they took it out and repaired it and put it back in my truck. Just glad I used the FEL to use, that would of been hard to do.![]()
