It's a pain to hook up the PTO even on a JD X720. Only recently discovered that the slide/latch ring clicks into place when you pull back far enough on it once it's on the PTO shaft far enough it releases and catches on the groove, that helps, some. There's not much room under there.

On my BX2660 I install the MMM using the Front loader. I drive up to the deck and use the loader to lift the front wheels over the deck to the front edge of the MMM then just lower it down. Then its just a matter of getting everything else hooked up like normal. To take the MMM off I just reverse the process. Granted its not as simple as the JD in the video but there's no way I'd ever go back to green after owning orange just to be able to install the MMM easier.

Hmm, that's interesting. I've used my loader to raise the front wheels to make sliding it in easier, but I never raised it high enough to see if the MMM would roll under the tractor from the front. How does the FEL clear the MMM in front of your front wheels? In my mind I'm thinking there's not enough room to squeeze the MMM between the front tires and the FEL bucket. Got any pic's?

Cool feature if you could get the tractor. If the dealer had one back 2months I would have considered it but nope.

With the FEL fully extended it reaches the ground in front of the MMM. Basically what I do is drive up to the MMM and touch the front wheels against the back of the MMM. I extend the FEL fully and raise the front of the tractor rotating the bucket. I pull the tractor as far forward with the FEL as it will go then slowly lower the front down. I have it in two wheel drive and slowly move the tractor forward as I lower the front. The front wheels touch down on the front edge of the deck and roll over the front with no problems. Its hard to describe how I do it without actually doing it. I don't have any pictures of installing the MMM this way. Its a lot easier than hand dragging the MMM from the side or my other method which was to use my Lawn Tractor with straps to pull it under the tractor. I'll see about getting some pictures of the operation and post them. A picture is worth a thousand words. I do have AG tires on the tractor, not sure if that makes any difference with clearance.

It's easy with an FEL. Have done it dozens of times with the B7610. Like JMBX says, drive up to the back of the mower with the FEL raised to clear it. When the wheels touch the back of the mower, stop, put the tractor in neutral, and put a couple of blocks (4x4s or 6x6s) in front of the mower for the FEL blade edge to rest on.

Un-Curl FEL bucket so bucket edge is pointing down down and lower it onto the blocks just ahead of the front-most part of the mower. Using the FEL, raise the front wheels of the tractor until they clear the mower deck. You may have to adjust bucket curl as the wheels rise to keep the front wheels from pushing the mower against the bucket. As the front of the tractor raises, the tractor rolls forward a few inches. If you're not in neutral, the tractor won't roll and the FEL may slip off the blocks.

With the tractor front raised, roll the mower back into position under the tractor. Hook up what you can, then lower the tractor and hook up the rest. Reverse these steps to remove.
