I'm not sold yet...I think the video oversimplified the procedure...heck, the video even made mounting the Kubota deck look simple. Takes me about a month to connect the drive shaft on my BX22.

Deere is on the right track but it isn't perfect. That video will convince a lot of customers but if they do really well with it Kubota would be the next to step up and add drive over decks to their BX tractors. I have been asking my local Deere dealer when the 1 series was going to arrive and they said within this month and they are getting several units. I know that one will be a demo and will then have the opportunity to check it all out and see how well Deere did with their new design. One thing Deere should do is add drive over decks to their smaller garden tractors, say X300-X700 models. It is a pain to take out even those smaller decks and would make it a lot easier to service the deck if it was easily removable.

You can get a drive over (not auto-connect) 60" 7-IRON deck for the x700 series.

those things always make me laugh though, reguardless of who puts them out they always leave a few details out. Like the fact that you have to lower the scalp wheels before driving over the deck, and lower them back down again after you attach the mower. Funny how they leave out a few details to make it look all that more slick.

won't deny, it is cool. Wonder what the cost is..? Shafting, carrier bearnings, linkage, an install that can't be easy... its gotta be $600-700+

What's funny about that is they also left out that step for the Kubota too...

I assume this thread is about the new 1000 series SCUT. I'm fairly good friends with the owner of a JD dealership and one thing you don't ask him about is the new 1000 series. He won't even talk about them and has yet to tell me why it's taken so long to get them to the dealers.

I owned a BX2200 for five years and putting the mmm on and off was never an issue. Granted it was very heavy but you learn how to move it around without killing yourself. With the John Deere system its something else that can break.

What???

How can JD support a dealer that won't even talk about their latest product???

My biggest pet-peeve is the fact that we can't get all of the features on any machine from any manufacturer. I have a JD 2320 and really like the machine, but why doesn't it have three ranges like the Kubotas do? Why does Kubota not have 3pt position control on small machines? Why can't we get JD cabs for the 2000 series like Kubota offers for their same-sized machines? Even the thumb promised for the new 270 backhoe (which keeps getting pushed back for release) has been offered by similar-sized Kubota machines for several years. The list goes on and on.

AND WHY IS THERE NO STANDARD QUICK ATTACH FOR LOADER ARMS SO WE CAN BUY FROM ANY MANUFACTURER??? At least we have that for 3pt hitch implements, but not yet for loader qa.

I know there are price-points the manufactures are designing equipment to hit. But the aforementioned features could still be made available as options so we customers can truly "build" the machine we want and are willing to pay for.

Disclaimer: Absence of mentioning your particular machine manufacturer does not in any way imply it doesn't have wonderful features that wouldn't be appreciated on all machines.

They were suppose to be on the market months ago and from what I gather there's a problem with them that has been fixed now or they are in process of fixing. My late Dad always said never buy the fix year of car or truck off the line well this is one of those situations I think. It's rumored that they're all sitting somewhere being fixed and will start showing up at the dealer soon. One can assume that any knew ones right off the line are corrected whatever the problem may be. Like I said you can't ask our dealer. We're close enough that they come over at Chrismas time and with each other some. My wife's operation spends about $10-20K a year at the local JD dealer, she has a new grain drill on order now.
