I thought you lived in Texas, Eddie. I could not see one rock in any of your pictures. Are you sure you aren't in Oklahoma? :laughing:lol

That's funny Lee:laughing:. The only rocks I have on my place are the ones Rebecca and I gleamed off your rock cache.;)

I leveled off the posts and built the headers on top of them. I used PT 2x6's for the bottom and outside boards and regular boards for the center and middle boards. I decided to go with tripple 2x6's with liquid nails and 3 inch deck screws to hold them together because I wanted it to have some beef to it. A pair of 2x8's would have done the job cheaper and faster, but it wasn't the look that I wanted. I also overlaped my center and interior boards to give it just a bit more strength. I've never actually seen this done before, but it seems like a good idea.

Oscar joined me for awhile, but then it got too hot for him, and he decided to take a nap!!:D

Looks great Eddie! I love the look of those logs/posts.
Are you going to use smaller logs/posts for the ceiling support/runners, or conventional framing?

Eddie,
This will be an interesting structure. It will definitely draw a lot of attention.

The rest of it will be built from conventional lumber. I have a few things that I'm going to do with the roof to make it unique, and I'm also adding black iron to it for strength and to make it look nicer. I want wood, iron and rock. My favorite elements in building!!!!

Oscar is my pet pig. I found him behind my place when he was just a few weeks old and still too young to eat on his own. I had to bottle feed him for a week or so before he would eat cream of corn and drink out of a bowl.

Wow Eddie, getting her done!. Looks plenty "stout" too!

Even at this point it would look neat as a open air fire pit hangout. Or maybe with an open air truss roof, can't wait to see it decked and finished. Nice job.

I'm betting "Oscar" will be one of the best "dogs" you ever had too:cool:
