Took the truck up to the installer for a new Redding Flatbed gooseneck hauler bed. Two weeks until it is ready. they were very busy. Truck was quiet, and everything worked great. The truck also came with a hydraulic parking brake 19.5 Kodiak aluminum wheels, and a PTO pump, ready to work. i'll post some pics when I get it back.

Couple of guys say it's a good price, I'll have to take their word for it as I have not been in the truck market for 4+ years since I bought my 07.

But Man a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty, How did you get that, I couldn't even get that when I bought my truck new. It was not available for the chassis cab/ commercial trucks.

Salesman finagled the paperwork work a little so I could buy the extended coverage like it was a 3500 pick up. I figured it was worth a chance and if they denied a claim they would have to refund me what I payed for it, I hope.:(

I Had a 2005 Duramax, GM put 3 injector pumps in it, 4 sets of injectors all under warranty and tried to file lemon law, they would not buy it back, I finally got rid if it on a trade for a 08 cummins, now I have two cummins and will never look back, Duramax Broke Me!!

I ended up with a four year 45000k bumper to bumper through Ford, It cost me an arm and a leg...($3100,) the five year was $1000 more. It seems to be the best available for aftermarket warranties. It covers the most Items (500) out of the four warranties I looked at, including almost all of the electrical components in the truck. One of the guys I work with got the same warranty on his 06 Superduty, and he had no trouble when one of his brake calipers broke. The truck has so much electronics, and a complicated engine, and tranny, I have no regrets about the price. I did have to sign a waver saying I was not doing any commercial work, in order to get the coverage however. As far as the fuel mileage goes, you were right on. the trip computer shows the average mileage for the lifetime of this truck was 7.7mpg. In my case I put about 3000 miles or less per year on a truck. I had to get a bigger truck however because I was hauling around my BH with a 20+5 Gatormade tandem dually the combined weight was close to 19000#. I was using a 04 F250 srw With the v10. If I ever got pulled over I was in trouble. the v10 was only getting around 9mpgs.

Yeah, extended warranties on expensive vehicles are not cheap, I don't get extended warranties on anything but vehicles.
To much to risk, out of pocket. Not sure if I'm ahead though, but it does give peace of mind.

MPG, pretty bad, that's getting close to the Dollars Per Mile range with the way diesel prices are. Must have super low gears. Should be good for towing.

Should be a nice truck. Is it a 07 classic (like an 06) or is it a newer 07 like an 08? From the mileage you listed I am guessing it is a newer one with the DPF. Also sounds like it has 4.10 gears? It should do a great job pulling your trailer.

Your truck was not the norm. We have a 2005 3500 SRW and we get between 10 and 11 mpg pulling our 10k 33' travel trailer in the mountains and average between 16 and 17 mpg the rest of the time. We also have 3 or 4 friends that get about the same mileage.

Everybody has one of those stories. I bought a brand new 2003 Cummins and put three turbos, four driveshafts, two front ends and four air conditioner compressors on it in 80,000 miles... only non Duramax i will ever own.. See? I think it has more to do with the guy who actually put it together than the name on the fender.

congrats on your new truck. i had an '03 3500 that ran excellant and towed very well. as the equipment started getting heavier i traded it for a 4500 D/A chevy. i have towed over 20,000# up and down mountains around east Tn. with no trouble or complaint. I think you will be very pleased with yours. definite overachiever for a truck.
