Hi all,
I'm new here to the site. I was just wondering if anyone knows if john deere has fixed the 3 pt arm problems they were having. I ordered mine while they were having the $2500 rebate and it is not due in until the end of July. I did not start reading about the arm rub till after i already signed the paper.

I've had mine for a month and havent had any issues. I saw some of the same threads and if I recall they were posted a few years ago. Congradulations on the new tractor, post some picts when it arrives!:thumbsup:

Welcome and congratulations on the tractor. I bought my 2520 just over a year ago, and I have been very happy with it.

One of the things I found a bit confusing about reading postings here, and on other sites, was drawing the distinction between the 2520 that was made between 2006 and 2008 from the one that has been made from 2009 forward. The issue with the 3PH arms was solved, along with a number of other changes, starting in 2009. I read postings complaining about the lack of a cigar lighter power outlet, which mine has. I also read many postings about problems with the wheels of the 62D deck, where mine has the newer style wheels. I even read some messages talking about how the 2520 engine uses an intake heater as opposed to glow plugs, where mine has glow plugs.

When looking through the parts and technical manuals, it's clear that there are numerous differences that are divided by serial number range between the earlier 2520 CUT and the one being currently produced. So, unless you are buying a used tractor that was made between 2006-2008, you will have the newer style 3PH arms that prevent tire contact.

I have one of the early ones, and I don't see glow plugs as a good change for me. I don't need it nor want it - I live in warm climate - that should be an option IMHO.

Either way, they all have some form of cold-start assist. They just changed the design along the way from an intake heater to glow plugs, either because Yanmar thought the glow plugs worked better, or because their use reduces emissions as compared with the intake heater.

As mentioned in the other posts, no problems with 3 pt arms. Mine are new style and work fine.

My new one has these things plus other things fixed. My old one did however have a cigar/power plug-in. I'd like to know if anyone can tell me how to tell if my 2011 has an intake heater or glow plugs. I had the dealer tech look at my new one to see what it had and he couldn't see evidence of either one installed on the machine even though it has the dash light that seems to indicate glow plugs. He showed me where the wires for the glow plugs would be and the wires for the intake preheat. No wires or evidence of any preheat device. And of course we all know by now that the manual says nothing about it. If anyone knows how to tell please help me out. Thanks.

Your tractor should have glow plugs. They will be located right next to each fuel injector. There is a strap connecting them all together with a wire attached to the strap at the rear of the engine. In the attached picture, "D" points to the nuts that connect the electrical strap to the glow plugs.
