I need to replace (8) :( old, dry rotted tires on my 10 ton trailer that I use to haul my equipement. Been using the Michelin LTX load range E on my 15 inch steel rims. Any thing better then the LTX's I bought 5 yrs ago? I never seem to wear tires out but the sun gets to them.

15" rims on a 10 ton trlr?
If you load heavy, go for as high ply (load rating) as you can find. I run 14 ply on a 10 ton.

What name tire and rim combo are you running?

I know 16 in. rims would be better but I would think it would cost more than the trailer.

If you are running 15" wheels on a 10T I would get some Greenballs. They make the best trailer tires on the market. I know they have 8 plys and maybe some 10 plies also.

I have bought no less than 100 of the Greenball ST 225/75/15 load range D and have not had one single failure.

Like you said, 5 years is about all the life you get out of tires unless they are out of the weather and sun.

It's a dual tandem that has a regular "Budd" style wheel, and the tires are Hankook.

How much total weight are you hauling?

My lightest current trailer is a 7,000# car hauler with 205/75/15 Greenballs on it. Had Goodyears and after multiple failures in the first 2 years I switched.

My other two trailers are 9,680# and 15,600#. Both have 225/75/15's but the larger is a tri-axle.

I can not tell you how many sets I have put on for customers for trailers ranging from 7,000# to 18,000#. Safe guess is 25 sets of 4 or 6 since 2002 when I discovered them.

Not one single failure.

Goodyears and Carlises we had tons of failures with. Carlises were the worst and the Goodyear Marathons not far behind.
