middle buster use

The photos show the shovel upside down. Shortening the top link too far will angle the shovel perpendicular. The shovel should be at the right angle when the support bar is perpendicular (90 degrees) to level. At that angle it will pull the shovel down. If the top link is too short it just creates more drag but the blade won't pull itself down. A little weight or even watering the soil might help if it is too dry.

Good Luck

If I can get someone to take a few pics of me on the tractor this weekend I will post them of how to dig taters with a MB.

I have 2 - 75' rows of Yukon golds that need to be eaten. :D

Luremaker - how fast were you moving when you did that? Judging by how far the soil is thrown to either side it looks like you were moving at a fair clip. 3ph at bottom position? We only have a few rows and I don't want to mess up too many by learning the hard way.

I am not sure the exact speed I was moving at but like your said quick enough to open the furrow and expose all those potatoes. I have a hydraulic top link length so I will fine tune the top link until I am happy the furrow as I am moving.

Okay - I've used the middlebuster to dig rows for planting, but haven't dared to go down the row and liberate them taters. Can't wait til The Plant Manager says "Dig!" and I can try it for myself.

Anyone ever try putting a middle buster in for one of their box blade teeth? I wonder if it would stress the box blade with all the pressure on one spot?
