Sorry folks, but I stole your rain. :laughing: First real rain 1/2+ since Jan. Had 2 or 3 damps, that be if you looked soon enough something would be damp. And 2, 2/10" sprinkles. Maybe this month will get some real rains.

Now on the 100+ day for over 100 & some odd days.

Tucson weather does not count out here 25 miles west. Almost always hotter here and the last 2 or 3 years most of the rain has been way east of here.

It's 105 here right now; forecast for 110 tomorrow. And you see what happens when you steal my rain. The first picture is my St. Augustine in the back yard, and I've been watering it a bit; pretty sad. But then the second picture is the back yard next door. They have not watered. One tree has already shed lots of its leaves.

I just got the following e-mail from a cousin in Texas:

It's so hot here my rock garden is dying. My pet rock (remember those?) came in and just laid there. Poor thing, I had to pick him up with a pot holder to put him in the freezer. He was so hot he thawed all the meat and defrosted the freezer, but I think he will make it.

Had quite a few of those 110's this year. Most of the time humidity is close to 0, now up in the 50 / 60%.

Some of the real old native trees are giving up. I've got some in the yard that have needed water. Even some cactus are wilting.

Waiting for A-Gore to return my call. Am sure he has a cure.:laughing:

My coworker just got back from Las Vegas last week. He said, "It was 108 and low humidity and we could just walk around for miles and not even sweat, but when we landed in Houston and got off the plane, it was like getting hit in the face with a hot sauna blow dryer."

Bird, it's easy to see the stress of your SA grass, but your neighbor will likely lose all of his grass and have a weed patch next year. With yours, as soon as it rains, it will turn lush and green almost overnight. It's amazing how quickly SA grass perks up if you just water it enough for it to survive.

Pacerron: I was in our local Lowe's yesterday and bought a couple of sprinklers for my aerobic septic system. They had a whole box full of the Rainbird P5-R sprinklers for $6.17 each. With my 10% military discount, that's $5.55 each. Amazon wants $9.53 for that exact same sprinkler head.
