Step #1. I would bake them a pie with some of your blueberries and deliver it asking them to please not tresspass... and no threats or mention of the camera.

Step #2 I would contact the police with your evidence.

Yes I am serious.....I had a crabby neighbor that complained constantly, when I saw he was getting low on firewood I brought him 2 dump trucks loads and dumped it in front of his woodshed, his expression was priceless. His wife baked us 2 pies and now we get along fine!

I will give you 2 pies for 2 truckloads of firewood any day of the week. Please let me know your schedule.

David you did the best thing by going to the police. I have testified before the grand jury and you dont want a states attourney asking if there was a problem, why didnt you go to the police. If you dont want to press charges tell the police you want to keep a report on file... a paper trail in case of future trouble/confrontations. After the police get involved and warned them it will likely be over, charges or not.As much as you want to confront them, take the high road . Let the law work for you,as you can tell by the posts No One Likes A Thief.

What an awesome idea. Smother them with kindness and let them punish themselves with their guilt. They might be too hard core for it to work but I would try it.

Our family bought 165 acres in PA for deer hunting. the problem arose when a couple locals that used to hunt on this property decided they would still hunt there. We had put up hundreds of No Trespassing signs but they ignored them. We talked to the local police, and they would not get involved so we went to the State Police. We gave them game camera pictures of these people riding through our food plots, tearing down gates, destroying fences and dumping trash.

the State Police went to the people and informed them that any further actions on their part would now be considered a felony. About a month later, they stopped me as I was leaving. I had been there by myself. tehy threatened to put a "Cap up my azz". I called the State Police and they asked if I had any proof. It just so happens that I had my cell phone in my pocket and turned on the camera while they were threatening me. No pictures, but good audio.

two of the people are now on parole after serving 6 months in lock up. Several of the other locals have stopped us and thanked us for doing something about these people. Apparently they had the entire area terrorized. If they get caught on our property again, it will be a minimum of 5 years.

You did the right thing by going to the police. They are trained to do this and chances are you are not the only one these people are screwing. It's a good bet there are other people who tolerate their behavior and that only emboldens them.

We had this same issue with fiddlerheads. I winged a few shots into the woods (In a safe direction) until the guy started hollering. I acted innocent and proceeded to tell him what he was standing in and what the caulking tubes full of concrete scattered through the woods were, spent ammo from an air powered cannon 1800' feet away. Once he realized he was standing in the equivalent of a military test range and I had no intention to cease fire, he politely left the bags of 'heads he so graciously picked for us and left.

I sure hope the police thing works; let us know.

I had an issue once with a sort of tailgating/road rage thing, on numerous occasions, from the same guy. (This was when I was exceeding posted speed limit by 5-7mph, not crawling along.) Went to the police, explained the situation, and they said they'd pay him a visit at his work to talk to him. Great!

Except, with this particular person, it actually made the situation worse, escalating into more tailgating and flippin' the bird every chance he got ("Oh, I was just waving....").

We eventually got it taken care of, but I hope nobody has to go through that type of response after a constabulary visit....

Do keep us posted.

In New Hampshire we'd just wait for them to come back and shoot them. Just make sure they're on your property and that you don't leave any trace, you have pigs don't you?

Seriously, leave it to the cops. People who trespass and steal know the rules. Any visit to them and they'll report you, then you'll be on the defensive. Publishing anything will start world war three. One visit from The cops and they will never set foot on your property again.

Seriously, you're from New Hampshire now ????? :D
In most NH towns the police chief would visit the offenders with the evidence & offer them the chance to pay up & cease and desist, or take their chances in court. Interestingly enough, if you personally demand they pay or face prosecution it could be deemed to be extortion. MikeD74T

Do keep us posted.

It's a sad world we live in- we have the bad guy's we have the Laws and here we are stuck somewhere in the middle,

The police will be eager to intervene, but don't be surprised if you never get any restitutions, Most likely will be criminal trespassing charges, the crime as being theft, a probation sentence will be given along with a fine that will be paid through probation, So basically any money to be paid will go to the courts and probate system,;) although you may get lucky and be awarded restitutions, unfortunately it will only be a fraction of what the courts will receive,

Example: about 2 years ago my son had his car audio system stolen from his car, the cost of his equipment total $2000, the thief broke out a window to get to it, this was another 250 bucks to have replaced, when my son give his report he was able to provide a suspect to the police, they then got a detective involved and being there was broken glass on the ground they were able to prove this person was in fact at the car location by finding glass in the bottom of his shoes that match the glass from his car,
They made the arrest on this evidents alone although was unable to turn up any of the stolen equipment, so could not prove he actually stole it, the thief got off with probation and a fine that was paid to the county, My son is out of his audio equipment and as of today has not received a red cent

The only money that was exchanged was to the county court system when the thief paid his probation fee's / fine's,
I have seen this sort of thing happening all over , where it seems as though others citizens are out of luck to receive any restitutions, yet the states, counties courts and probates gets the money........

good luck and hope you get whats due to
you
