I have been looking for a new tractor and was researching all of the Manufacture sites on the web and when i looked at the Mahindra site it was not very infomative compared to other sites. Unfortunately, the fact that there site is not user friendly and lacking actual tractor specs a lot of people (including myself) probably don't spend much time looking. After seeing some Mahindra posts on other forums i decided to take another look at the Mahindra site and find a local dealer to see the tractors in person. Hopefully the dealer will be able to shed some light on the Mahindra brand and specs.

Dlauffenburger,
Which model are you looking at? I will go to MUSA's website and get the link to the specs for you.

Dlauffenberger :
I don't own a Mahindra but been looking at their 65 HP+ pto models.
Have you checked out their website ?
Mahindra Tractor - Compact tractors, utility tractors, farm tractors, ag tractors, attachments, implements & farm equipment - all built tough!
One of few tractor companys that have customer reviews on their own site !
Also many reviews here on TBN site.
You also might be surprised to know who else is manufactureing parts/components/etc in India on SOME of their tractors and assembling here.
Please do not intrepret this comment in a mean spirited way. :)

Brandi,

found the Specs links last night shortly are sending the original post, figure the odds. Now have to start diging through them to figure out what they have. Do you know if they have a page that show what the dirrerence is between the series, or do you just have to dig through every series and try to figure it out.

I am looking at a 50 - 65 PTO HP tractor for farm use so weight to pull farm equipment is an issue so it looks like the 30 or 60 series is the answer, but i saw a 00 series pop up every once and a while but no details.

Thanks for your help,
Dave

Boone

Boone,

Thanks for the info. As i mentioned in my reply the Brandi above i am also looking for a 65 HP PTO tractor for use on a farm and weight is a concern. It needs to be heavy enough to conteract the weight of a baler and full hay wagon hooked simultaniously on hilly ground. Some of the Mahindras look like the will fit the bill weight wise. I think the 30 or 60 series are their full size tractors with some weight.

I was a little surprised to see the engine specs, most of the Mahindra 65 HP tractors specs that i looked at show approximately 150 CuIn displacement, but other brands 65 HP tractors are approximatley 200 CuIn so i don't know how Mahindra is getting that much HP out of a significantly smaller engine.

I did read a bunch of the reviews this morning, but have to temper that with the fact that they were all reviews from recent purchasers and vetted through Mahindra so i would not expect to find very many negative reviews. I would be nice if there was an agency like Edmonds.com that provided actual reliability ratings for tractors:).

In your search have you looked at the LS Tractors, if so how did they compare to the Mahindras? I saw an LS U5030 at the dealer and was impressed but now i need to find a Mahindra 6530 or 7060 to look at.

Thanks again for your time.
Dave
