Yes it runs great. I test drove a used 500 and it may have had a little more power but for what I am doing this will be more than enough.

The 500 only has 3 more HP, not worth the extra money. How is it for stopping?? As the new ones do not have engine braking standard, but it can be added.

There are some things that make a Sportsman what a Sportsman is. McPherson struts up front. Industry leading floating rear suspension. Braided stainless steel brake lines. Disc brakes all around. On demand 4WD. Sportsman's have been around for a while. For the rough stuff all the people I hunt with recommend the Sportsman. It will get you in and get you out.

No problems with brakes. Primary brake of course is the hand control but the foot brake also works well. Rear brake lights do not activate by the pedal-only the hand control.??? Not sure why.

Dealer says to do it at 10 hours and it would be around 100.00. I am thinking of letting them do it and check it all over while there to make sure everything is ok. I bought the 2 year extended warranty so I want to make sure things are right from the start so they cant say I overlooked something and not be covered by the warranty.

I think WilliamBos is talking about engine braking. An issue on the earlier Sportsman's with belt drive. Engine braking wasn't there on the early models. My 2007 Sportsman has the EBS (electronic braking system). It works very well. I'm sure your 2011 model has something similar.

Good idea. Just make sure they clean the oil screen in the oil tank. Most usually do anyway. You could ask them to make sure they do.

They took the EBS off in 2011, made it an option on the value line, to help keep the price down. It can be added though. When I buy, I may have it added.

That's good info. No way would I have an ATV with out engine braking. Going head first down a cliff with out engine braking is a good way to be swatted by an ATV. Sometimes brakes are bad. I hate to hear that Polaris has made this an option. The EBS started as a patch for the short coming of the belt drive for lack of engine braking. EBS works extremely well.
