B2620
I'm loving my b2620 (60" mmm) but the obvious weight increase (upgrade from a JD345 lawn tractor) is leaving a significant ring around all trees while mowing. I've tried slowing down which helps a bit. And more recently, I've stopped doing the complete circles.

Any other ideas?

Mow around the trees using a tic-tac-toe pattern (tree is in the center square) in repetitive passes.

Thanks for the reply. I've begun to do something similar to that (incomplete circles...like 1/4th at a time) but having 120 trees tends to add a bit of time:laughing:

Ground can slope up @tree, forcing up inside guage wheels, making outer wheels contact ground. Repeated mowings leave "rings"...ask me how I know...:)

Sounds like you need a zero turn mower for mowing and leave the tractor for... tractoring.

That's why I don't like too many trees .
Trees belong in the woods not in the yard.

what?! no trees in your yard to stay cool?! how sad....

I have a few trees in my yard and love them. I too got the tire rings around the trees too until I came up with a solution that worked for me. It may not help in your case, but did for me. What I did was I planted hostas around the trees so I get a larger circle to drive around so the outside tires is not diggin in so much. Once the hostas grows thick- its just like a shade canopy to keep weeds down so I am not using my string trimmer. Love it! This past spring I was in process of thinning out the other hostas to plant around other trees I haven't done yet and still kick myself for not doing it earlier.

LB, you are da man :D

re. circles around trees. I got the same thing on my BX23 w/the bar tires. When I switched to the turfs it lessened it quite a bit.
But likes been said, going slower also lessens it.

We have one tree in my yard and it's an old Oak that was there when we built. I use an AC to keep cool.

We had planned on lots of trees, but decided against it. We are, however. surrounded by woods on three sides.

My neighbor has lots of trees and uses a John Deere CUT, ZTR and push mower, not for me.

I paid $2225 for the 60" mmm and sold my JD325 for $1900. Starting to wonder about that move, yet I like the long runs with the mmm.

Thanks for all the banter about trees, no trees, hostas, etc.

I picked up some new ideas
