Buying Advice New member looking at 22hp Kubota, Bobcat, Kioti

I think the Bobcat and Kioti are close to the same so I would let price and dealer drive me. The c120 is a bit small for most jobs that hook to the 3 point unless you get a smaller version. A 6' brush cutter is way big. A 4' is probably the right size. I would bump up to a bit larger tractor with about 30 hp. These tractors weigh a bunch more than a similar Kubota. This makes it a better machine for finish mowing.

Agree on the above. Any Kioti model is a good tractor, however the CK 20 is compatible only to a 4' cutter, 5' finish mower. I would stay local if at all possible. Good for both parties.

You of coarse meant the kubota would be the better mower.

Thanks all for the posts I am REALLY kicking around going bigger depending on price. I want to buy as local as possible and I will give them a chance but as far as I can figure their cash and carry KT230 Kioti price is where others are on 0-0-60! There is another dealer ready to go at the same price as my local guy plus do the Kioti financeing. Heck for that the guys with the CT122 have a CT335 I may ask them about. My wife likes the rocker forward reverse control of the smaller tractors better though and it is more tractor than I need but there just aren't that many Bobcats and Kioti's kickin around the area to choose from.

Yeah distance is an issue but I travel the state for work so I blow through most major, for Montana, towns about every six weeks or so. Heck I know outa town better than in! Thats sorta the reason for the tractor when I wanna do something around the yard I wanna do something!

I know what you mean about the "creature comforts" of the Bobcat CT225 - 235 series/Kioti Ck27 - 35. I had an old Kubota B8200 that filed all my needs but had no FEL. To add a loader and powersteering was no cost affective, so I had been looking at the CT122 for some time thinking the CT200 series was to wide of tactor for my needs. Then one I walked into the dealership and they had a CT225 sitting there with R1 ag tires. The 120 with R4 is 51.3" wide and the 225 with R1 ag is 54.4", considring all the little extras or tlit steering, 3 speed range, & telescopic 3 pt arms it was a no brainer for me. Plus w/R1 tires is less expensive.
Comments earlier about 6' rough cut mower, no the CT122 won't handle that very well. The Bobcat 225/Kioti CK27 & up will do fine with it (if it is severely overgrown you will have to go slow the first time through but afterward regular maintaining is no problem).
The CT335 is quite a bit bigger than the CT122 or the CT200series, you would be jumping 2 size classes to go with that one.

Posted this on another thread. The pics are of my front lawn and looking down a hill on the west of my property. (south, southwest and south east)

I probably should point out I am not getting this for a lawn I have a little craftsman rider for that. I will be cutting only brush and natural vegitation as well as spraying for weeds and pine beetle, moving dirt, stone and dead trees, landscaping, snow removal and road maintainance.

I travel and am in most major Montana towns every six weeks. So I know outa town better than in town! I would prefer to support a local business but they need to be competative. I understand the need for a solid distributor more than you can imagine!

So got the finalized bid on the CT122 and I am soooo excited!!! I tried to talk with the local Kioti dealer and he is BAFFLED how this dealer with the CT122 and another Kioti dealer with a CK27 and CK30 are hitting a good price point AND giving the financeing??? I read the notes on the financing on the Kioti site and I am going in one more time. If he can come close to the other Kioti dealer and get the financeing in place I will buy from him otherwise I am pretty sure the CT122 will be mine! I don't think I am out of line but . . .

Hopefully this will all be done tomorrow.

The Kioti program is either 0% financing or the free loader, but not both.
The finance rate would be 5.72%.

You have probably done the deal by now, but I have to agree with an earlier poster that a 6' brushcutter is too big for a 20 - 22 hp. Also a 6' blade might tend to throw you round a bit.
I borrowed my daughters 6' brushcutter/slasher for my CK30 and while it handled it, I know it was too big. 5' would be fine. Occasionally I have wished for just a little bit more power but then you also use more gas in a bigger machine as well.
Fun shopping isn't it?
