Love my B2320 and have only 50 hours with probably half of that using the mmm. My understanding is you have to bring the deck all the way up to make the height adjustment and then lower it to the new height. A little fickle in the beginning but after a time or two of bringing it up the knob would turn freely. This last time to mow before taking the mmm off to sharpen blades etc. I wanted to raise it a notch and that thing wouldn't budge. Up and down, drive it a little, didn't matter that thing wasn't moving.

After taking the deck off, of course the knob moves easy as I think it should. Has anyone else had this and if so is there a part or piece of the mechanism that jams or gets in the way I need to look for? Had my father in law who I would call mechanically savy looking at it while I was trying to adjust the height and he couldn't see anything; of course it was over a 100 degrees and he may have just been saying that so he could go in and finish his iced tea.

Got no response first time around, maybe didn't ask it clearly enough. Can raise the deck to the top setting but it won't go any further to choose a lower cutting heighth. Not a big deal now because I'm mowing at the highest setting but it definitely is stuck and shouldn't be that way.

Any thoughts?

I had a similar problem on my BX. One day it would not raise up over the number 4 spot on the dial. It wouldnt even raise it close to the frame. I took it to the dealer and the tech maxed out the bolt adjustment for it (on mine, its near the rear 3pt hitch arms, drivers side). Im like what happens when it does it again??? oh well. It did fix the problem. It was weird cause it happened suddenly. I thought the B's had a deck that was adjusted by the caster wheels?

Basically, the mower lift linkage is attached to the 3PH upper lift arms - not sure exactly how on the B series. Find that linkage and look for and adjustment nut that will allow the 3PH to raise the deck a little higher. That's what amg280 outlined above for the BX series. I don't know how the B series adjusts but someone might be along who does.

Mine was tight for a while but seems after some use it goes to the top setting easily and I can lock it in for storage that way.

I did find the RPM needs to be a little higher than idle to get it up high enough. maybe 2200 or higher.

check out the left rear of tractor where u can see your 3PH arm connected to rear linkage to the deck. maybe your lock nut came loose and bolt has worked its way out enough? either way, it wouldn't hurt to loosen the nut and tighten the bolt in a few complete turns and re-assess...
let us know what happens

This happened on my bx because a weld on the linkage broke and the adjustment bolt then got bent out of the way. You will see the knob is attatched to a circle that looks like a round set of stairs. If when you raise the linkage it doesnt clear the top it wont turn. There are instructions right in the manual of how to adjust this but basically it involves finding the little round staircase under the tractor and adjusting the bolt on the linkage until it clears the top position
