Hi All,

Like most I've been lurking here for years - finally pulled the trigger and bought a 2000 JD 4600 with 460 loader. Tractor was found at a local dealer here in eastern PA, after a brief negotiation period I loaded it on my trailer and drove home. Tractor is clean - deal was good - I'm a happy camper!

Being new, I can't figure out how to upload a picture - any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Another lurker no more! Sounds like you have found a nice machine - the JD 4600 tractors have a pretty solid reputation from folks here with lots of use on them. Congrats and welcome to TBN.

Congrats! You will have tons of fun. Just be careful you remember where you park it in that high grass, you don't have that time saving feature of bright orange paint and green blends in well in non-drought seasons. :D

Congratulations from another new 4600 owner. I like mine a lot. I think you will find the 4600 to be a very capable machine.

Your Pics look very familiar! Nice looking tractor!

Mine has R4 tires and a folding ROPS. Also, the bucket on mine was painted black. The bucket could stand a repaint. Sometime in its life, mine must have been given a new hood. The "4600" decals are missing from the sides. I may get the decals, to make it look more "original."

Enjoy your "new" 4600!

Nice looking tractor...I'm very happy for you!!

If you plan on snowplowing with your 4600, you might want to get chains for those turf tires. www.tirechains.com is fairly local (Johnstown, PA) and has good quality chains at a good price. Don't wait until Winter...might be out of stock by then.
If you go for chains, you'll want a minumum of 2.5" between the sidewall of the tire and the fender. I can't tell from the pictures, but you may want to reverse those rear tires.
