Messick..I really feel bothered that you said we were treading into fanboy territory. The reasons the majority of us listed for liking these tractors were fair and substantiated.

The prior post totally disreguarding the short commings of the tractor where the basis for the fanboy comment. As I said, they are not bad tractors, just not infaliable. I'll continue to sell them as they are the right tractor for some customers. Internet banter is no reason not to get out and enjoy working your machine.

I finally had some time to visit a Kubota dealer near my parents place that has been selling Kubotas for 20+ yrs or whenever Kubota first entered the market. There has to be 100 or so tractors on his lot from the subcompact to 45+ HP. the salesman himself admitted 90% of what he had was hydro since thats what sells. What I am looking for has already been detailed in the thread and a hydro was not on the list. aftre some seat time and a trip around the lot on a L3800, I did not like the placement of the gear shift or the PTO lever. LS puts the gear selector at my righthand side of seat Kubota places it in the middle of the deck like my super M. LS also puts the PTO as a switch on the dash vs Kubota placing the lever down by my feet (both cases Kubota=simple, effective for sure but not what I'm looking for).

I looked at the L series b/c messiks indicated he would sell me a L3200 for the price I quoted earlier in thread. A fine price for that machine I'm sure based on the quote I got yesterday, but unfortunately the L series does not meet my needs/wants.. the G and R series by LS offer 3 ranges vs 2 from the L. Kubota for some reason does not offer a third range until the 45+HP models. (yes I've heard the argument you dont really need it at lower HP, but until your buying my fuel shut up). R4 tires and dual remotes were options as is the QA bucket but the L3800 I was quoted for had it. few other major differences is Kubota does not offer a mid mount PTO opton whereas LS does (not that I will need it) but still its there for LS. (more value for someone else maybe.) Also the LS R3039 has draft control for the 3pt whereas Kub only has position. Most of the specs for the models I'm comparing are all very similar except for GPM on the hydraulics 6.3 Kub vs 8.6 LS the LS is a little over 100 pounds heavier w/o the loader but in person the loader for the LS R3039 looks heavier (sorry kub does not list loader weight as a spec so I cant actually compare). Now I know, some Kubota owners/ dealers may question why am I comparing the L series to the LS R3039 instead of the LS G3038 or G3033? The reason goes back to the point I was trying to make with my first post in this thread which some must have missed (value for my money) I simply took the amount I was quoted yesterday and matched it to a model that you can purchase from LS for a similar amount. having said all that its still not really a fair comparison for Kub since the web site from an LS dealer that posts in these forums as well, also offers a 5 ft box blade and 5ft mower. for almost 200.00 less

Sorry Messicks while I like your price I'm sure its more than fair, especially after my visit to another Kub dealer, after actually doing the research if I had wanted a 2 range unit I would have included the S3010 in my original post.

Clearly, if you bought the Kubota, you'd spend all your seat time thinking about all the little things that were not the same as the other tractor, regardless of whether the tractor itself is doing the job you bought it for. You need to enjoy your tractoring experience, so buy the one you really like.

The gear shift on our Kubota is on the right and PTO easy to access etc., etc.,etc., but gotta agree with Grandad4, get the one you like and enjoy it. I like Kubotas, but there are LOTS of tractors of different makes and models out there I could be driving with just as big a grin on my face.

Or you could buy a McCormick or maybe a New Holland Boomer....wait...
Anyway I think TripleR and Grandad are right. You have done your research and come to a conclusion that the LS is the best deal for your money. It's the same conclusion I came to and I am sure you will enjoy yours as I do mine. For me there was a value that was hard to beat on a very heavy (R Series) tractor with many standard features. I went with my instincts and am happy with the results. Are there things I would change? Sure..I think everyone would say that about their tractor. All in all I like it and I work it hard. It does what I ask and then some.
That being said it took me a couple weeks on this forum to come to the realization that not everyone sees things the same. You think I would have figured that out on my first wife. The Chevy- Ford- Dodge arguments could go on forever. Buy what your instincts and research tell you is right.
I am just awful glad we have all of these options! We are pretty lucky here in the US.

Yes I agree. It sure beats breaking up the ground by hand for a few corn, tomato, and bean plants for dinner, with a goat or two in the basement for milk. Not that I ever had those problems, but one of my grandfathers made sure we knew where hard work could take you.

the only thing i don't like about my little ls made mccormick is the fact that i am at work all the time while it sits in the garage collecting dust. well, I also borrowed a hst kubota and used it for tilling up a pasture and got ticked that i could not get the cruise to work because of the vibration and i could not get it to hold the speed i wanted. now that i purchased a gear tractor because of that i wish i had the hst back for everything else. but the fully syncro shuttle and 4 speeds works really well just not as nice as the hydro. when i start doing more mowing and less loader work it will work out nice. It seems to drink less fuel than the similar hp kubota also but that could be because leave it at idle and use the foot throttle instead of having it wound up all the time like with the kubota.

I purchased my MF because it was the best deal for MY money. Not to mention the fact that 'She who musy be obeyed' wanted the red one:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I noticed my local Rural King now sells MF right next to their Tractor King tractors. I wonder how long Rural King has sold MF tractors? Talk about a hit to their image!

I agree, they should just stick with the Chinese brands. No sense in muddying their image by selling MF's.
