We really like our Rhino, but for real work the farmers around here go with the Polaris and Kawasaki Mule. Kubotas are great and drool over the cab model every time we go to the dealer, but the price is a real killer.

I run a 3010 Diesel with a 120 gallon spray tank and a big boom system. I can tell you they are an awesome machine. I looked at all the brands and cannot come up with any negative on the Mule for a machine made to work. Some other rtvs are made for play, go fast, ride like a car. But for real work, the Mule is a stud.

Years ago I was painting towers at a ski area. They had a mule (gas), I'm not sure what model. They let me use it to bring painting equipment up the hill. Until then I was an ATV guy but that thing impressed me. I ended up with a Honda because of price otherwise the Mule was the most likely option. I wanted a SxS that load it and a trailer with firewood.

Around here the Kubotas RTVs are used by contractors doing road work. They often are moving light towers and e-signs around or hauling fuel to fill them up. But I can't remember seeing one owned by a farm or homeowner around here. I think they are just too work oriented. The mule is a great balance between work and play in my eyes.

I don't think I would go with a diesel. The nice thing about these over a small pickup is weight. The gas engines have more than enough power and they start well in all conditions. You would have to put a lot of hours on one to break even on the cost.
