Chrome Truck Grilles

I got the chrome package when I ordered my 06 GMC Medium Duty. I also got the polished alluminum Alcoa's. A big truck needs some chrome.

Here's what mine looks like...Bought it for the motor and a couple of other things...The chrome came with it..Those who don't like chrome, feel free to criticize:D

Your truck rocks. Can't go wrong with black and chrome.

Tim & Topkicker - nice lookin trucks. Would show mine off but the chrome is covered with bugs right now :D

Another thing on the Fords (mine is a 2010) is the chrome on the grill looks like some sort of cheap coating or film. Still have low miles on the truck but not sure how long that coating/whatever is going to last. Time will tell... If the worst problem I have with the truck is 'catastrophic chrome failure' I will have no complaints

I like that truck. I told you when you got it I thought it was the best looking GM truck I have seen and I still think so.:) That coming from a guy who is not a GM guy. What makes it look so much better to me is the wheels actually fit the big square wheel wells. I have never been a fan of the squared off wheel wells but with the larger wheels and tires yours has it makes it look much much better.

It has just the right amount of chrome to me.

I know what you are talking about. I have had tons of them Fords with plastic chrome grills and no issues.

Quick way to get the bugs off is put some vinegar in a old Windex Bottle. Spray down the bugs first and then wash before it drys. We use it all the time on the airplanes. Catch a lot of bugs taking off and landing at 130mph. It works great.

Thanks for the tip, will give that a try. I think bugs are getting tougher too - Windex/Sparkle doesn't seem to work the same on them anymore.

Not so sure about tougher bugs but who knows with all the Round Up being sprayed and other chemicals. I think it has more to do with them taking all the good ingredients out of cleaners we use with concerns of cancers, ect.

I have 09 f150 lariat with the chrome grill. I really like the look of the grill. Funny thing is I had to look hard to find a lariat without the chrome package because I prefer the aluminum wheels over the shiny chrome wheels included in the chrome package. I also like chrome bumpers and do not at all care for the color match bumpers.
I like the black painted bumbers best of all .
Easier to touch up or repair rust spots and the black
paint always matches up .
Not so with chrome or color match bumpers.

I have a 93 f150 with chrome bumpers and they look good for the age of the truck. Of course being a southern truck it has seen very little road salt in its 18 + years.
