I pulled the housing off today.
I will post some pictures later tonight or tomorrow. Nothing sticks out as a problem so far.
I removed the control valve from the housing, the o-rings look to be in good shape. I cleaned it out in Naptha.

Frist off I have never had one apart and I'm uneasy telling someone how to do something unless I have done it. I have all my life took things apart and put back together for a living or just to see how it made. Look at it this way, it doesn't work now so to me it's a win, win if it works when you get it back on.
By looking at the 790 parts list I would remove plugs #10 I see one is in deeper then the other. I can't see why or how it would screw in because it has to move. If you take bolt 29 out I would not turn on nut 30 it adjust the push pin #26.

Both the #10 plugs are the same depth, in the picture 1 has been removed, the other didn't want to come out (I need to drag my drill press vise out to my shed to hold it).
I don't plan on removing 29, as you can see it looks to be "factory sealed" with the corner bent against the bolt.
Hopefully pulling #7 shows me something

I think when you remove 29 all of 31 comes off. If you don't find anything at 7 I would go on with the others, they look easy to do and have no adjustments. Also only need some o rings. I'm been thinking it's a broken spring or a open poppet valve.

"29 must be removed to get 7 out" I kind of thought that and you haven't found anything. wow only 1 more thing to go and cleaning. Sure wish you could find something. If it was dirt we might not ever know for sure if it was dirt or a flat o ring. Are you going to put new o rings in?
