Noticed this the other day. what a bummer. I dont recall hitting anything hard with it. I thought this was super duty guage metal??? I hope the 72 on the B series is stronger....Looks like im welding tonight.

The metal looks fine it is the low quality of the weld.

It happened on ours last year, but we are pretty rough on our mower with my wife frequently forgetting to raise the deck. My son welded it back on; better than new.

I suspect a bad weld as we never had any problems with our BX2200 and I was rougher on it than my wife is on our 2660 and the 2200 is still trouble free.

I didn't even bother painting mine, it will just make the rest of the deck look bad/worse.

Yep........:D

I took one off my M60 Tank early this summer and haven't replaced it as of yet. Cuts fine without. I need new gage wheels anyway. They wobble around on the axles like a drunken sailor between bars......

What type of welder did he use? I have a mid grade Hobart Mig with gas....I know it works great for exhaust work.

My Hobart 210 would do it but if you have a 110 volt mid range, I'd go to a SMAW unit with 7018LH rod. Nothing beats a dc stick welder for implement repairs.

Happened on our BX2660 60" deck. Had it re-welded and all is well now.

I honestly don't know, we have MIG and stick. He is a very good welder; me not so much. I took classes in VoAg MANY years ago and was pretty good then, but now...
