I've been trying to make up my mind between a B3030 or L3240 or B3200. Seems no dealer in my area have all 3 on their lot for comparison, especially the 3030. Only 1 out the 5 within 75 miles of me have the 3200 and 3240 both on the lot and none have the 3030. How about in your area, how's inventory.

Right now it is relatively low. Earlier both dealers had lots full of tractors and storage areas full of tractors still in crates. Now there are only a couple of crates out back with less than full display lots.

Not positive but I believe others have discussed the B3030 and the B2630 are being "phased out". When I got a price quote a couple of weeks ago on a B2630 the dealer said there was $1000 "dealer money" available.

Others will likely confirm or refute :)

Good luck...TMR

I thought so too, but Messick's posted only the 2630 was to be discontinued with the 3030 still remaining in production; don't know if cab and open station or just open station due to the 3000 models.

You'll probably have to go to a really big dealer to find all those on the same lot. None of the dealers I use have all those in stock. Most have the B3200, the standard L-series, then skip up to the L3940. The B3030 is pretty elusive, I can't recall ever seeing one in person.

You my to expand the definition of "your area". There is a dealer in a nearby (to me) city that must have 50-60 of them on his lot. But that dealer is about a 75 mile drive, and as it turns out expects you to pay pretty close to list price for everything. Of course, if you just want to see them side by side, the pricing thing isn't a big deal, but my point is you may have to go a little further to see what you want. Around me, most of the Kubota dealers may have 3-4 tractors, and one of them only has 2.

The closest Kubota dealer to me has quite a few tractors on his lot but I wouldn't know the exact models as I don't look at tractors under 50hp anymore. I haven't been by the larger Kubota dealer lately but the next time I go to the local dealer I will try to take notice of what models they have.

It is tough for a dealer to have one of every model available on their lots. For the most part they try to have one or two of each line so they can show the customers the tractor and if they want that tractor but one size larger or smaller (hp wise) then the dealer can order one for them. But at least the customer can see what the tractor will look like and how it is laid out control wise. Thats how the local dealer is, they have the most common sized tractors there and probably the models they sell the most of but it allowed me to see what I needed as I was looking at the narrow vineyard tractors and wanted to see the cab layout, they didn't have the actual tractor but the cab was the same as the one on the L3740 (I think that was the model number) so I could get to see what the cab would be like and how much room I would have inside it. So even though they didn't have the tractor I saw what I needed and they could get the tractor from another dealer within a day or two if I wanted it.

...and why should they. Why should a dealer floorplan a model that collects dust and generates no traffic. It's not good business. It is, however, taxable.:)

Are the ones I mentioned really not that popular? B3200 is a new model and the 3240 has new features for this year.

Frankly, I don't know. I'm a big tractor owner not a small tractor owner. The statement I make concerns retail sales and how in pertains to inventory.

If it don't move you don't want to floorplan it. Taxes on equipment can destroy a bottom line quickly.

When I buy a piece of equipment (tractor) I basically know what I want and order accordingly. Of the last 2, neither was at the dealer I deal with. I just ordered using the specifications I wanted and Kubota built them according to that.

Works the same in my business. I don't hold in inventory, items that move slowly. It costs to retain.

My dealer is 18 miles away. He has been at the same location for 29 years. He had several models of each Series, from small, medium, and large tractors, lawn tractors and recreation vehicles on his lot when I bought there in June. He didn't have the one I wanted though. My Dealer called another Dealer located 40 miles away, and picked uo my Model in a crate, brought it back, and I personally saw the mechanics assemble my choice. I purchased a 2011- L4400, 4WD, FEL, gear drive transmission. It is an excellent machine and my Dealer was GREAT in every aspect.:tractor:

Kubota dealers are not the same as car dealers. The inventory on the lot belongs to Kubota, not the dealer. Now I've been told that at a certain point in time that changes. Don't know if it's a year or two years or less. Guess Kubota will not stock a lot forever if the dealer isn't selling any of their Kubota tractors.
When I travel I notice Orange. I've seen dealers with 2 or 3 tractors and I've seen dealers with upward of a fifty to a hundred tractors. Barlows, the dealer in Somerset, Ky has as many or more than I've seen at any other lot and Barlows has this area of tractors in crates that keeps growing and shrinking and changing all the time.
Barlows does also have several used tractors which I'm sure are totally owned by them unless they may be selling an ocassional one for someone.

all dealers dont keep a mix of big med an small tractors on their lots.alot just keep the tractors that are best sellers in their arwea.

The larger the dealer the better the chance of seeing a 3030 tractor. The B-3200 which is the standard model sells about 10 to 1 over the 3030.
