Yes the same as the commercial spray on, but I used the Plasticote brand, they sell it at Tractor supply, both it and the Herculiner brand,. I bought a gallon, but have a lot left over, I used a small roller after scuffing it with 600 grit sandpaper, and using some "goof off" to clean up the dust after the scuffing process. I took all the parts off and did the coating job in the shop, but if you are good at masking, it might go a lot faster. Follow the link and you can read about my saga.

I didn't notice the link before, thanks it looks good. How long have you had the coating on the platform? I had the rubber mat on my 2900 and it was sort of a pain over time. The little rubber stops separated and broke off and it slid around some.

been a little over a year, and about 100 hours.. holding up well so far, and of course it would be easy to fix any scuff's.

Yes, I really like the performance and functionality of the machine. It is taking awhile to get used to the HST, my 2900 had the synchronized shuttle shift and I still want to use the clutch, but I am getting there. My son has the 5040 and it is much quieter than my 5100, but it does not have the turbocharger, so I guess that adds to the noise as well as the hydrodrive. The power and stability are really great and I have been using the bucket a lot. I did order a toothbar for it so I can hopefully get more level cuts. I didn't have a toothbar on the 2900 (4WD) and I had a bucket on an old Ford 4000 2WD that I sold years ago. It was a good old tractor, but you really need 4WD for effective loader use.

Thanks, I plan to go to TSC to get a 3pt ball hitch attachment today. I will check out the coatings while I am there.

I have a MX5100 with the FEL also, not the HST. I also have a landpride 1872 brush cutter. I do not have the rear remotes, wondering if I could get the larger cutter like you have and use the connection for the FEL. Is that
possible?

I am certainly not the expert but I don't know why that wouldn't work. All it does is raise the mower for transport. It sits on spacers put on cylinder when in mowing position. I wouldn't begin to know the right place to connect it though but I'm sure somebody here can enlighten us.

yes you can use the loader remotes to raise an lower the mower.i was talking to my salesmen yesterday about a notill drill an he said if i rented the pull type notill drill an he said i could plugg into the loader remotes no prob.

I'd like to know how she cuts with that 10'er. I have a 6' hog and she cuts fine with that if its not too thick but i don't know if mine would handle the 10' in tall thick grass.
do you have any action shots?
