4505 - Any information on this tractor??

I have been extolling the virtues of the Mahindra line to a neighbor. He has found a 4505 with only 430 hours, and an FEL. The owner says that it is in good condition. I figured logically that this must have come after the 4500 but, it appears that this is an older tractor that preceeded the 4500 line.

Can anyone give me some insight into this tractor as far as size, weight? Is it similar in design to the 4500 with the same filters, etc. Any comments on durability, suitability to task, and so on. Ideas generally on the price of this age unit?

Already looked at Tractordata. The information there is lacking.

Yeah, first thing I did and always do but, really not much information. Also, found the review. What I was trying to determine basically is how closely does it resemble in terms of parts, engine, hp, and design to the 4500 of which I am familiar. My feeling now is that it is a completely different tractor. And, in that it doesn't appear to be a lot of them around, and thus far, not a lot of information, I don't feel I could recommend it to my neighbor. Thanks for the help thus far.

The 4505 is an older model then the 4500. My memory tells me it was discontinued arround 2001 to 2003.

Both are 43 horsepower.

I have never actually seen a 4505, but I think you would find the 2 at least 90% the same.

I have a 4505DI with a loader. Right now it has some engine problems due to it running way too hot twice - but I can post some specs and a picture or two. I have the service manual. It is a 4 cylinder. Good utility tractor.

The Mahindra 4505 DI / 485 DI tractors are 100% WORKHORSES. I owned a 485 DI in the past and should have never sold it. It was a '97. Had about 1200 hours on it 5 or 6 years ago when I sold it. I kick myself all the time for getting rid of it!!
