Rotella-T, use conventional or synthetic?

Things are way cheaper south of the border. We are hovering around $6/gallon for gas, for one example.

True just saying for the price, there is no way in **** it is a synthetic. Not even Rotella 5w-40 T6 is a group synthetic (grp 4+)

Correct, it is a group 3+....but it is not a "synthetic" when compared to a grp 4 / 5...For the price, it is good but not in the same league as Amsoil / Redline. Most love it for the price and buying at walfart.

So what I posted is correct.

How about M1 5w40?? Walmart has it, and wondered if it iss a group 4 diesel oil??

An important point being overlooked is oil capacity. Big rigs often have an oil capacity of 8 or 9 GALLONS vs 8 or 9 quarts for the CUT. If you carried four times the amount of oil in the pan you could easily go four times as long between changes.

Those truck engines can be 8 or 900 cubes as well. The proportion of oil may be fairly close as to samller engines.

Delo 400 comes in full synthetic as well, same as Delvac 1, I use it.

The Delo Syn 5w40 was $18.39/gal at coscto...Do you really think it is the same ballpark as Redline or Amsoil?

Delo has a high ash content that kills DPF...Poor pour point but that is me.

Heck, I still love Lc20 on any diesel oil...The UOA are perfect!
