I'm really sorry to see the split with Shibaura. I think that the old Shibaura Boomers were among the best looking tractors with the most ergonomic setup and nice cab.

I might have been getting one instead of a Kubota if they were not abandoning them in favour of LS.

The Kubota dealer I've been dealing with for parts and such used to be a NH dealer as well but have gotten rid of NH and are going with Kubota only.

So far this tractor is exceeding all my expectations! It is just phenomenal!

As for the new Boomer or Farmall B series (LS) tractors, this is a sore subject for me. I feel this will be the last compact tractor I purchase from New Holland, unless they really do something to refine these tractors. The LS tractors might be good, but they are just too rough around the edges to compete against John Deere and Kubota. The operators platform on these new tractors is total garbage compared to the old Boomer style. Unfortunately, to me New Holland/Case is now on par with Kioti (not to offend anyone, Kioti is a good tractor).

I really hope CNH has plans to refine these tractors soon. If not, then all CNH has achieved to do is alienate its longtime customers base, stifled dealers' input when they demonstrated these new tractors (two or three larger CNH dealers I spoke to expressed their concerns to CNH about these new tractors well before they were released into the consumer market - CNH's new management did not seem to care) and have now hurt their dealers competitiveness by not doing the due diligence to investigate the LS's US dealer expansion plans before signing the LS build contract.

Boy oh Boy, I couldn't of said it any better. This is my second NH tractor in 5 years. I particurlary do NOT like the LS compared to the Shibura, and, like you would consider looking at other brands. I'm sure they're many who feel this way. People speak with thier dollars, and NH will see.

Just another kudos for Romance and Son as a dealer. Great service.

Nice machine! I made the same comparison this year and bought the 3040. I've got 63 hours on mine and I've enjoyed working it. There's certainly no lack of power on that tractor.

What I cannot understand is how close the LS dealers are opening to the New Holland and Case dealers. We have one LS dealer now, another one opening further north and from what I am hearing another opening more east. These dealers are within 20 miles of the New Holland and Case dealers. The other thing that floors me is the LS Rio series tractor (equivalent to the new Boomer and Farmall B series tractors) has more standard features than what New Holland and Case offers. One of my friends was at a fair and both New Holland and LS were both there. The LS's FEL was not as refine as the Boomer's FEL, but the LS Rio tractor was cheaper than the new Boomer tractors. In addition, three landscapers I know just bought new LS tractors (longtime NH owners), because they did not see any reason to purchase a New Holland for more money when LS is the same tractor and the LS dealer is a few miles closer to them.

I really hope CNH has plans to refine these tractors soon. Sorry for the soap box. I am just a longtime NH customer who has owned a number of Ford and NH compact tractors and I am frustrated from what I see this company is doing to itself; it use to be top tier contender in this market!

The local Kubota dealer here in Newton has carried the LS line for several years now...
The New Holland dealership in Newton has the new LS re badged New Hollands on the lot...
The dealerships are located 2 miles apart...
Just my opinion from an old country boy...
It ain't gonna work...

Everyone,

Thank you for helping me choose between the John Deere 3720 Cab and the New Holland Boomer 3040; i got the Boomer 3040. The Boomer 3040 rides like a Cadillac versus my pervious New Holland TC34DA. The dealer broke the tractor in on the dyno and the engine has 44.5hp gross and 38hp at the PTO. My dealer has seen some Shibauras produce 10% more than spec, but he thought it was pretty good to see this engine produce a little more. I also got a Woods PRD8400, a new M.K Martin Meteor 75" snowblower and a set of forks. Some pictures are below.

John

Hi, a great ride. Have you tried it out in high gear on a smooth road yet? I just hope they do not wobble like the 2008 Boomer 55 horse one I purchased. I was wondering if New Holland had corrected the BOOMER WOBBLE. They could not help me in 2008!

My 2006 TC45A has that wobble.

I notice mine most in mid range on a road and a little in high range. Does not matter if the tractor is in 4wd or not.

The whole front end of the tractor shakes when on a road. I took it back to the dealer to have him drive it and he did not seem to think anything was wrong-or just did not want to admit it. I drained the fluids up front and did not find anything out of the norm-no metal shavings etc.

Also jacked the front end up and turned the tires both ways and did not hear anything or feel anything that felt like rubbing or grinding or catching and everything turned straight and true.

I thought I may have bent something when I pulled out a piece of equipment but I am not 100% sure the wobble was there before because I pulled that equipment out when it was new.

Great looking setup! One question though, why is the Scag sitting in the corner?

Hey there, it is a major design problem and my dealer would not admit it either as they were having a big Boomer blow-out sale. My dealer had to finally admit after 5 diff. combo of tires and wheels 6 months later that they could not fix it. I ended up with a TN-60 A and it does not wobble a bit even a full speed. I also tried many other Boomers and they all did the nasty wobble. Most yuppie farmers that never drove a tractor would not notice and I bet that was what my dealer was hoping. After 20 years of driving old farm-alls that never wobbled I told him to take the new boomer back. Which he did as any good New Holland rep. has too.You did not do it to the tractor. I hope the newer models are better, have not checked as my TN-60 has 500 plus trouble free hours on my farm.

Where is the problem coming from? Too much caster etc. I have noticed when looking at my tractor straight on the front wheels are very v-shaped.
