I know how you feel, I've had my BX just about 2 years and got 100 hours on it (will be putting more on it since I put the MMM on it last month). Been learning as I go and just hope I don't break or screw something up. Hang in there, take your time, the more seat time you get the better it gets.....I hope

When you get your school going and branch out to my area ... I'll be one of your instructors !! I could put them to cutting, raking, baling, hauling, stacking, brush hogging, plowing, discing, planting, scraping, hauling, post digging, grappling, back hoeing, loader work, cultivating, spraying, fertilizing, greasing, oil changes, .... just to mention a few.

I know for a fact that agricultural colleges have ag equipment classes...as i have taken some of the classes. Everything from equip maint and actual use, welding, etc.

Junior collages also offer these classes. I have a friend (50 years old) that is taking some welding classes at a community college without credits (just pays lab fees). There out there. Check with an ag extension agent.

Hmmmm. you have got me to thinking. You may be right, I have taught firearms usage to hundreds of women and a few men. It was all donated time. I have about 19 years on 4 different tractors, I sure don't know it all but I know a little. And beside an "expert" is just someone who knows more than you!:) I think you have a very good idea there. I will give it some more thought.

I was very unsure of myself when I first bought my BX22 but as time went on I became more and more confident. Nothing beats learning by doing. There is a wealth of information on this forum and lots of very helpful people. Hopefully you have an owners manual, which should provide good info about preforming routine maintenance. The main thing is safety first. The dealer had two pieces of advice when he delivered the tractor: concerning the loader he said 'take it slow and keep it low', And the other was 'when in doubt check it out'. After 5+ years, I feel like an old hand with my tractor and I have the dings in my house/garage/trees etc. to prove it!

So my question is "Would you other newbies be interested in a class?".

I would have been very interested when I was a newbie, and think you have a very good idea. Given the high investment cost in the machine, and the large number of ways to make stupid mistakes that cost a lot of money to get fixed, either by a mechanic or a surgeon, and I think many people would be interested. Just explaining what all the various implements are and can do would be helpful. There's lots of horse farms around here where people who never spent a day of their life on the farm are starting from scratch trying to learn, and the first thing they do is go out and buy a $20K tractor and attach a bush hog to it. Talk about an opportunity for a safety lesson.
