That is a really nice machine  So, you can operate it from the tractor seat? That's cool.

Yes. On my Kioti the 2 rear remotes have control sticks right next to the joystick for the FEL.

But now that you mention it, I suspect I could stand next to the tractor and run it also.

I need to think like a safety police and see if that is unsafe.

It is necessary to lift the whole 3pt and the grinder head and adjust the tractor to get the whole stump, so you gotta drive it sometimes too.

It is an interesting process.

Good question!

Be well,
David

Operating from the rear would present more dangers, mainly from the PTO, but other then that, I would say about the same as if you were running a rental selfpropeled unit. I would stay in the tractor, you have more control, and you can reposition the tractor as needed. It also prevents anyone from accidently jumping in the seat. Great videos!

David, very nice! Sure looks like it grinds through the stumps easily.

David, if I had that stump grinder and you had a feather in your ear, we'd both be tickled.;) Very nice! It sure seems to get the job done.

This unit looks good to me but I have 2 concerns. I have a JD2520
(26 HP) and question if it would run it ok, and, does the blade ends get dull if they keep hitting dirt like a chain saw does? thoughts?

I've had my Woods TSG50 for a year now. Ground over 500 stumps with it. No prep around the stumps prior to grinding them....and all are dug about 8" below ground level so I can run my disc and tiller. Same teeth.....and they still cut like new. I pay no heed to dirt....and my dirt is quite sandy...but no rocks to speak of.

I have 25 PTO HP on my 3320. Its adequate....but one can always use more HP. The size / weight of a smaller tractor would be of concern to me more than the power (such as your 2520) but for limited, occasional use, smaller cuts, I can see it working.

Glad to see another Woods TSG50 owner. WTG David! Good videos!

David,
I've had time to think it through very carefully after watching the videos and noting your responses of overwhelming pleasure to the different posts. So in the interest of all, I'll give you $1 for the new toy and take it off your hands. That way you'll have time to quit grinning, having fun and get back to serious work!:D If you choose not to take this generous offer, I understand but be warned I can't go any higher.

David (hello, fellow Virginian!), I've been strongly considering one of these stump killers and have heard nothing but good things about them. Can you tell me what's involved in attaching/detaching them?
