New Checks

I need to order new checks from my bank but I am thinking about changing the information on them in the upper left hand corner. A few years ago I took off my social security number but I still have my full name, address, phone number and Mrs Bigtiller's information also.

I have seen personal checks with nothing but the persons initial but I don't think I need to get that drastic --- or do I?

I had my phone number removed on mine.....but everytime i use them the cashier has me write the phone number on the check or they wont accept it..... kind of a waste of time. I WISH the check would allow me to add my picture on it...that would stop alot of problems. (and be scarey at the same time..id use my drivers liocense photo...or worse yet my costco photo)

It is a balance, you need enough information but not too much. Name and address is all we have, we can add the phone number in the rare case it is needed.

My wife does not sign the back of her credits cards, instead writing to "see ID". You would be amazed at how many cashiers do not ask for her ID.

I dont sign any of my credit cards either....and nearly every cashier asks to see my ID. Only one smart a** cashier told me that my credit card isnt valid unless its signed, and refused to accept it. I left my purchase on the counter and left.

Dido for us, but we don't use checks much anymore. A few places we mail checks too, but that's very few theses day's.

I've heard of that practice but never looked into it. Turns out the cashier did the right thing.

yup, it even says so on the back of the card. But if i sign it than if its stolen they have a copy of my signiture. so your dam* if you do and dam* if you dont.

You can always put see id on the back of the card next to your sig. I have seen checks with peoples driver liscense numbers on them to make sure they match up to the people using them.

We still have a few checks around but sure don't use many these days.
Has our name, address and phone # on the front.

As far as my 1 credit card goes it is up for renewal next month, my signature is no longer legible and I do sometimes get asked for ID. Most of the time they just accept the card with no ID.

I still have to use computer printed checks for the business, but I'm using debit card more and more at the stores.

I have 2 credit cards for the business, and only use these to get the 1-2% rebates and 4% off of fuel purchases. I never carry a balance, and the credit card companies hate me. I do love the checks that they send me though.

They keep threatening me that there going to have to raise my interest rates.....i tell them go ahead...i don't carry a balance. They just don't get it.
