How many attachments is too many?

How many attachments is too many? Don't know, not there yet. So far I have rear a blade, landscape rake, pond scoop, rotary cutter, carry-all, PHD, tiller, & trailer mover. Then added a QA for the loader and have 2 buckets (1 smooth, 1 tooth), bale spear, & pallet forks.
Still on the wish/need list is grapple, Backhoe, manure spreader, plow, & disk. Wife did say she thought I had spent enough this year. Guess I will have to wait until Jan. to start browsing the auctions again.

It's crazy. I have a 6' disk, 6' shredder, 6' box blade, 8x8 drag harrow, hay spear, 500 pound spreader, and quick-detach pallet forks and hay spear for the FEL. And I still want a chisel, rototiller and a flail mower!

Easily answered...

Too many is when they sit around and collect yellowjacket nests and rust.

Other than that, there is no 'too many'.:D

My question would be... How many is too many of the same kind of implements? I bought a second tractor and got a second rotary cutter and boxblade in the deal. Whether or not I keep the old Massey I can't see any need for 2 of each as I'm the only person that uses them. But they WILL come in handy for financing a stump bucket and what ever else I may need. :)

I have a couple pieces of equipment that collect yellow jacket nests and a little rust, but they are there when I need them.

There is no such thing as 'too many attachments' even if you have only one use or a daily need for them!

The thing with most attachmenets that were bought at the right price is that they cost very little to own. Bought new is another matter.
A used $200 grader blade will likely sell for that years later so their cost is, in effect, zero for this argument.

Since we do work with them that saves money, our wives should encourage us to buy more, not less. This has worked for me for 30 years.

Kinda like asking if water is too wet? You can never have too many attachments.

Too many is when it takes more land to store them than you have to use them on. that's just my opinion.:D

3 plows, 3 disc's, 4 row crop planters, 2 grain drills, tiller, square baler, round baler, tedder, 2 hay rakes, 6 wagons, sickle bar mower, mower/conditioner, 3 equipment trailers, 2 sprayers, 2 elevators, 1 grain auger, a combine, grain cart, 3 gravity wagons, 2 rear blades, box blade, 2 pulverizers, 3 fertilizer spreaders, 11 rotary cutters, pto generator, 3-point boom, bale spear, 3-point carry-all, cultipacker, top dresser, and a partridge in a pear tree......

Still looking for more.

OK, explain that one...

There comes a point where it just makes sense to have more than one tractor.

There should be a tractor just right for each implement, which stays with that implement.

Just think of all the money you can save on quick hitches!
