It has an pull up knob on the fender along with the cruise control both factory installed along with the 305 loader, I've tried both ways, no luck. I have a 4 ft Taylor tiller & a 5 ft Big Bee mower. Thanks for all the suggestions. I really like my popping johnnie other than this one issue. Mary

I think that will work just fine. Now I know what it looks like when I stop at Tractor Supply. Some one earlier said that they also have them. Some of the young guys there never been on a tractor. Thanks a lot.

NO Problem. If you get one, get the type hatc click into place by pulling back the sleeve. Some of them require a pin to be drilled into it...skip that kind. Mine hooks on and off in seconds.

If she was to install this would the shaft need to be shortened?

It adds 6" overall to the length. Most shafts can shrink down without cutting. I personally HATE to have to cut a shaft.

The quick hitch adds about that much extra length, so I don't think I'll have to do any cutting. I found I have to raise the mower a little because of the extra length so I can get it on the PTO. My neighbor and worked for over an hour on trying to hitch it up the first time. I stepped back and looked at the angle & when we raised it, it was easier getting on.

Now that you helped me solve that problem, I dug up an old part off of something, looks like a step on on a wagon or some other equipment. I have a couple of pictures posted on Grit.com blogs

If me, I would try turning the key on (do not start) and engage the PTO. Then see if that releases the PTO brake on the shaft.
