i had an incident this weekend, when i was skidding logs i went up a small hill and the tractor weels come up 1 foot and stayed up till i leveld out, i then added more weight to front it helped a little,from now on i will cut the logs smaller.

In the video they don't show it, but there'a a pull chain attached low in the still picture.

They lift from the log hog but pull from a lower spot on the tractor (draw plate?)

Maybe you are looking at a different still photo than I found. I used the zoom feature on the still from Northern Tool's web page and couldn't see the pull chain you refer to. I also looked on Norwood's website and couldn't find it there either.

Regardless, it does sound like a good idea to add the pull chain if I'm pulling a heavy log. Thanks for the suggestion.

When those wheels come up is the time to either kick the clutch in or come off the HST pedal in a hurry. In your case, it sounds like the forces did balance, but pulling with the front wheels off the ground is more than a little bit hairy!
