My 3PH's are Cat3 and I've never 'kicked' anything becaue one, it would break my foot and two, kicking something implement wise that weighs a couple thousand pounds does absolutely nothing.

I hitch and unhitch numerous times daily. Never been an issue.

I run my loaders fro tne cab. Never from the loader.....:)

Un-insulated Red Wings that go above the ankle when chainsawing or digging. The height keeps the junk out of your shoes. Insulation makes my feet sweat.

Rubber bottom hunting boots when doing snow removal. Two-buckle overshoes for sloppy or wet stuff. Everything else is generally done in old tennis shoes.

Never in steel toes, my feet are kind of square compared to the taper of the toebox in any brand that I tried. I never had a pair that I could wear for more than a couple of hours.

In my early career doing industrial pipe work, I learned to pay attention to where my feet and the rest of me was in relation to the heavy stuff. If you keep yourself and all your important parts out of the danger zones you should be all right.

Most people hurt or killed tractoring never lose a toe in the process.

I've been wondering what the boots are for too. I thought my tractors where real, but realize that to some, they might not be.

I have a 6 ft rotary cutter, 7 ft finish mower, 12 inch auger, 6 ft rake and a 6 ft box blade. I also have a 6 foot drag and a sprayer that is on a trailer. I cant imagine why I would kick any of those things, or what that would accomplish? I'm also unclear as to how any of them could end up on my foot?

To each his own and whatever you are comfortable in. I like flip flops.

Work boots me feel like a man. That's important. Those Wesco boots would make me feel like a woman. Starting with price tag.

I wear Bates tactical boots

Or steel toed Red Wings

I have had LL bean duck boots for ever. 8" and 12" models. For everything except running a saw or really cold days they are great. Lightweight, dry and I have never had an issue with LL nor replacing them if they fail. I would never kick anything on or attached to my tractor and can't see wearing steel toes all day to sit on my butt! My neighbor runs his tractor in sandals, I have never seem him get out of the cab so I guess it makes sense

For me it all depends on the weather and what I'm doing.

Same here...
Finish mowing...normally sneakers or slip on canvas shoes.

Brush cutting and most other work in temperatures above 40 degrees or so, I wear chukka boots and occasionally high top boots. I prefer the chukkas for the lighter weight.

Winter...insulated boots.

Until it gets too cold, I wear cheap rubber boots from WalMart, then switch to duck hunter boots or snow boots for snowblower season. If I lived somewhere it was really warm I might reconsider my boot choice; in the South, the rubber boots would be like wearing a crock-pot!

I know with all my animals I like boots for working around manure. The wife would have a fit if I went in the house in barefeet or flip-flops after feeding the geese. I kick my implements occasionally but that would be a different thread

Eddie, I used to wear boat shoes with no socks until one day I was bush hogging along a fence line and felt this terrible pain on the top of my left foot...Ouch !!!!!!!!!! I looked down and hit the brake..It was a blackberry bush branch loaded with long thorns that had drug across the top of my foot...Mucho blood and I stopped to pick thorns out of the top of my foot...

Lesson learned...plus out in the field if you have a breakdown and are out there in flip flops or boat shoes with no socks and you have to hike back through high grass....Not good...So I wear socks and short boots...My Thom McCan's :) Oh and I almost forgot...remember in the first Die Hard Movie...Bruce Willis was put at a disadvantage right off the bat fighting the terrorists in the office building because he was bare footed...the broken glass cut up his feet..I always keep my shoes close to me after seeing that movie...think about it.
