Red wing shoes are my favorite. They are not cheap though. My employer has an account at he store so I can buy them with company discount. I have one pair about 15 years and still holding together. Since Red wing has also width sizes I buy them one size longer (as recommended by the sales person) with correct width size for comfort.

I wear boots pretty much 99% of the time, except when walking for exercise.. I buy good cowboy boots, most with steel shank.

used to wear whatever and have a few close calls with 'deck' shoes and slipper pedals.. never again.. boots on tractor or no tractoring.

Oh and I almost forgot...remember in the first Die Hard Movie...Bruce Willis was put at a disadvantage right off the bat fighting the terrorists in the office building because he was bare footed...the broken glass cut up his feet..I always keep my shoes close to me after seeing that movie...think about it.

From real life.....

During WWII the ****'s came to a house and told the Jewish family inside they had to leave. The ****'s gave the family a few minutes to gather a few things. The father was very insistent that his late teen age daughter put on her heavy boots. She did not want too since it was warm outside but eventually she wore the boots.

The family was taken to a concentration camp and all but the daughter died or where killed.

Towards the end of the war, the Russians were getting close to the concentration camp so the Nazis moved the prisoners. The prisoners had to walk. In the middle of winter...

Many of the prisoners did not make it due to being executed, disease, cold, and lack of food. The teen age girl survived because the boots her father insisted she wear, allowed her to keep walking while others died because they could not walk with bruised, blistered, and frozen feet in the middle of winter.

I almost always wear boots on the tractor especially if I am changing out equipment. I really try to watch foot placement and keep the feet from being under the implements. I sometimes wear old running shoes or some cheap "work" shoes I have on the tractor but usually boots.

Next pair of boots I hope to buy will be White logger boots with protection from the chainsaw on the top of the boot.

Looking for some work boots or steel toe shoes to tractor and work in. What are your favorite tractor shoes? Right now I just tractor in walking shoes but I don't think that is really safe. I know I should get some steel toe shoes. Looking at these, anyone have experience with this brand.

This is my brand also. Very comfortable and protect well, Im sold on em :thumbsup: I dont do anything 'work' related around the prop wearing anything else.

Carolina brand leather steel-toe boots, with the Vibram rubber sole. I've had these things for 10 years or more, can't wear them out.

I prefer the above the ankle height, the loggers are too tall and restrictive.

The advantage of a boot that goes above the ankle, it protects your ankle from a severe twist if you step on something wrong.

other than my mentioned cowbow boots.. I HAVE on occasion worn a pair of milsurp compat boots.

kevlar sole.. nail proof.. and I've accidentally tested that too!

Except for the office, a birthday, wedding or church, i wear genuine Dutch wooden clogs. The wood insulates thus keeps warm in winter, cool in summer, and absorbs sweat. It gives goot support so i dont need orthoptic inlays. They pass CE safety tests just like steel toed boots, are nail proof, and may crack but not fold into your foot.

...And i can kick them off quickly when a welding splatter drops in...
