Ever used starting fluid in your truck?

have used it on everything from a cat to a durimax. when the fuel system had to much air or not enough fuel pressure it helps BUT not starting fluid i use brake clean or b12 just a shot, rattles for a second then cleans up. we used wd40 on a deere for an entire summer to get it going. just have to be smart about it and watch what your doing.

In college I had a GMC that needed a shot everytime, unless it was still a little warm. A few glow plugs had rounded off, and the truck was not worth the time investment. Got me through two of the many years though.

These days I have a similar vinstage GMC with 6.2 that also needs a little shot to fire. Its under major repair work so that may change.

Nearly every one of my father's Macks needs a little encouragement as well. They have been started on ether for more than 30 years, and run beautiful.

On that note, it is an art to keep an engine alive using ether. To little, and you won't start, and wash the cylinders in the process. To much, and all sorts of bad things can happen.

6.2 was one of the most reliable diesels gm made back in the day, if worked on 200 6.5's i may have only seen 10 6.2's over the years. definatly worth havin around and its all mechanical. good ole truck even with out the 5000 hp the new ones seem to need to get down the road.
