Nice place you have Eddie love reading your project threads, nice job on gazebo.
I finished the framing and started on the electrical. I was working on the mounts for the lights on the posts when I had to replace a hose on the backhoe, so I didn't get as much done as I wanted. I'm still hoping to get started on the decking this weekend, but it seems like every time I want to work on this project, something more important comes along.
I bought 8 lights at Lowes that I really like to mount near the tops of the posts. I want each light to shine on the log, and also make them stand out from a distance, at night time. The picture shows one of the lights that I'm using as a template for cutting, griding and sanding the logs.

Roof is done. It took four squares and a bundle to shingle it, and including the starter row, and then cutting three tabs for the ridge cap, it took another square and a bundle of those to get it done. There are three seperate roofs, with 8 ridges on two of them, and a nasty peak to deal with on the Cupola.
I like how it turned out. It has enough going on that it's interesting and attractive.
The Hardi is on and caulked. I will caulk it a second time befor painting. My schedule is crazy this week, and next weekend. I'm not sure when I'll get back to it, but the good news is that it's all set for the rains to come back to Texas!!!
I did something a little different with the Hardi on the Cupola. All the grain goes in the same, horizontal direction. When I looked at it with the grain going up on the sides of the windows, I didn't like it. I've never done this before, so I might have screwed up. I'm doing a faux stain on the walls of the Cupola, with the soffit and fascia being painted dark brown.
Thanks,
Eddie
