I've been looking through the (build-it yourself) section on the off chance of finding some sort of plans for a standard or generic sleeve hitch for a JD X530or GT225. One that could be used on both.

In the process, I have found a wealth of information about so many different subjects, that I forget what my origional problem happened to be. And that's the beauty of this forum, I'm finding out and I love it.

However, back to my problem, I've read thru page 67 out of a zillion and I haven't come up with what I need, is there a better way???.....Thanks for being here.....lg

You should hint at what you're looking for in the thread title. That would pre-sort us.

Hey Guys, Sorry about (title Re.) location on my initial post. I got called away while I was in the process of posting and didn't notice when I returned. Won't happen again I assure you.

What I'm looking for is any sort of plan drawings for a sleeve hitch that would work on a JD-X530 and/or a JD-GT225. I don't know anyone currently who has one on their equipment but, I do have a friend who says he can make one for me given the dimensions required. Any help or directions will be appreciated.......lg

When you say "sleeve hitch", are you talking about a receiver style that uses a 2" interchangeable tube which slides into a 2 1/2 tube? If so, a lot of folks incorporate on in a 3 pt hitch setup which allows you raise & lower it at will. You can numerous threads with pictures of ones posters have built.

I assume he's talking about the old style sleeve hitch that was used a lot on garden tractors...

Here's a parts diagram of a sleeve hitch that I came accross when I was looking for that picture for this post...

Well, I finally made it back and I've got to say "Sorry" again to Oliver1655, IplayFarmer, Shortgame, and Johnrex62 for not getting back to you in a timely manner, so, "I'm sorry Guys" and that's a fact. I have been traveling for a while and wasn't close to a computer, for whatever that's worth.

One of you found what I was looking for, that set of plans, which is what I found to look at and examine. A friend of mine informed me that he had used one for about 3 years and was impressed with it, so, I went to look it over. He ordered his from a manufacturer, "Johnny Products", and I in turn did the same. It is due to be delivered 11/2/2011, tomorrow. It can be seen at their website under the same name. I purchased the "Universal" model and will use it on the front of my tractor with snow plow and dethatcher. It is operated with an "electric activator" that comes with the package and appears to do a fine job for light to moderate loads.

When I get it installed and operating, I'll try to get some pictures for your perusal. Thanks again for your efforts, I appreciate it greatly...........lg
