What is going on here with my storm door?

I smell a class action lawsuit right about now. Might be able to get 5 bucks to put on a new door.

Some Larson doors are warranted for live. Others for 5 or 10 years. I had two that cost me nothing but a stamp to send pictures of the damage and they sent me new doors by UPS. I had to put my glass and hardware on the new ones.

OP here, back when we built our addition we installed a 6 foot Anderson sliding patio door, when it was about 4 years old an exterior seal failed and water began entering the core of the sliding panel. We called them and they didn't even ask for pictures just to send them proof of purchase, and the sent a new door panel Fedex for free, the panel weighs about 75 pounds and costs about $275 retail. Every company should have such good customer service !!

Well if it only lasted 22 years I can see where you would be dissatisfied.
Good Post!

Yeah, if I had posted this thread over on LMF what kind of a response would I have gotten?

RESPONSES ABOUT AS USELESS AS YOURS IS!!!!

And FYI I in no way said I was dissatisfied. I am mainly curious as to why the door is failing after so many years. Do you think Mower Moronic over on LMF would have any idea?HAHAHAHAHA. Worthless turds like him do NOBODY on LMF a favor by hanging around.

BTW, after just spending $22 grand, whay should I give a s--- of my door only lasted 22 years???

Aluminum needs an acidic environment. In an alkaline environment, the aluminum oxide protective layer converts to aluminum hydroxide and draws more moisture.

I have seem the same kind of corrosion on RV's with aluminum siding. They all had water leaks above the corrosion.

G. W. TRAPP :: STORM DOORS I've had good luck with trapp storm doors. I have two sets of double doors on my front entrance and one set on rear French doors. Been on over 20 years. They have outlasted my aluminum siding, all the paint gone from back of house and storm doors still white as can be!

Thanks for the info. By any chance, given your screen name and the avatar you use, do you own a Road Runner?

BTW, the link you provided shows Trapp to be a Michigan company, so there should be plenty of dealers locally.

Did you have a 383 or a Hemi...bet of it was a Hemi you are always cussing yourself for selling it...I have been a subscriber to Hemmings Muscle Machines since the first issue...still dream about owning a muscle car again...never gonna happen though!!!

Unfortunately it was a 383 couldn't afford the Hemi option. I think it was like 300 or 400 bucks more. I only paid $2900.00 out the door! Today the car is worth approx. $30,000. Your right I wish I never sold that car. Today I own a 1994 corvette convertible as a toy with 22000 miles on it very fast car handles and stops much better than the Roadrunner BUT not the same !!!! I like you miss the old muscle cars !!!
