019T is a cheap made top handle saw, not pro grade like the 020T. Which is now the 200T.

Just so you know ;)

Do you have a 020T, or the current MS201T? I do not, but I can see
that the 020 and 019 were sold at the same time, about 10 y ago. They
share the same 35cc displacement and top-handle arborist design, but
little else. The 020T has a 2-ring piston and much less plastic, but
both saws have magnesium engines, rather than aluminum. Homeowner
or "farmer" Stihls (e.g. the 029/MS290) have Al engines.

If the current Stihl arborist saw offerings are a good indication, both
saws are "pro" saws, but the latter is much more expensive. Stihl
calls the current MS192T and MS201T arborist saws "pro" saws, but the latter
costs twice what the former does. The MS192T is over $300, however,
and that is not a cheap saw.

I just bought a 290 farm boss last week. Worked the dealer down to $339. I thought it was a great deal. I really love the saw. Here it is. Along with my others. Guess you could say I'm a stihl man!

My current favorite all around saw is an MS260. Light weight, powerful, and well balanced. I do most of my cutting with it and only get out the bigger saws when I have something really big to cut.

I'm just going to  . I owned a 200T and 020T, I think you are thinking of a 020AV. Run 020T or 200T to the 019 and you will understand why they cost $589 new.
201T is the newest version with epa design. Havent ran one but guys I know that have, said they are right behind 200T.

Run what you want thats your decision . But you should have a open mind and read and learn from others been there. Dont get all pissy and defense over your choice of saw. I could care less and will charge you the same to work on a POS and a little more if it really ticks me off working on it. LOL
I pass on 019T and used 192T all the time for $50 to $100 bucks. They are that much of a POS to me and dont want to mess with them as trade ins or to own. That is my decision. :p;)

Just so you can see how the 019 is made. Below.

By the way here is a good how to strip and rebuild your 019T MS190T 25min video http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5252374651781234318

YesDeere : Is that a 041 in the back . Looks exactly like the older of the 2 041's that I sold last year . The newer 1 had the chain brake , both were awesome saws . Sold both and bought a new 441 magnum . Little easier to start than thee older saws were since it has a compression release .:D
