what year is my DADS 2000 ford tractor

[Hello, I just accquired my dads ford 2000 tractor. Im gonna fix a few things and give it back to him. i have numbers from all over the tractor but still dont know what year.tractor #C296472,model B1012B, number stamped on trans housing C7 NN 7006 AK, motor number C 9 NN9425E, would really appreciate any information, thanks.god bless

C296472 is the serial #. The C indicates USA as country of origin. And the serial # puts it at a 1971.

The B1012B is your actual model code.

B= model 2000
10= Agricultural All purpose
1=diesel
2=transmission driven 540 PTO
B=transmission code, but a "B" isnt showing up.

There should also be another code or # there by the starter where you found those two. It will give an actual build date down to the day and even what shift of the day:thumbsup:

as I read this it is a 2000, but where it gets confusing is that mine has a diesel engine.. but that number indicates a gas engine..any and all help/information is greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure what / where you are getting your bad info.. Maybee it's because you are thinking it is a VIN code.. ford tractors don't have VIN codes.

the have model ID numbers, serial numbers, and date codes. and you have all 3, and they are VERY easy to decipher

21022A This is a model ID.

2 = 1965- 3/1968 ford 2000
10 = Ag chassie
2 = gas engine
2 = trans 540 pto
A = 4 speed

As was said.. engines get changed.. and so do transmissions... could have been a trans swap.. or engine..

C158881 is a serial number. It puts it as a late 66 model. 1966 SN range started with C124200, 1967 SN range started with C161300

6M7B is a date code. 6 = 1966 M = December 7 = day of month B = B / DAY shift Dec, 7, 1966 which goes along with late 66 sn.

I thank you all for the information, I hope to use this site for quite a bit of changes that I am wanting to do to my tractor.. not particularly fond of the transmission PTO, but it is what it is.. I will just have to adjust to using it.

Unless you are running a hay bailer, it isn't much of an issue to overcome the limitations of a non live pro. Just remember to use an orc if running a high inertia implement, like a rotary brush mower.
