Nice .. let us hear about it.

Jake, let us know how you like it and if you think that the restrictor makes the control manageable. The first question that I usually get is why doesn't the hydraulic work right? It always ends up that the customer hasn't fully cycled the unit enough times to get the air out. I recommend 10-20 full cycles and you are usually good to go. I suppose that I ought to start putting a flyer in the box suggesting to cycle the hydraulic several times.

I have a needle valve that I'll try if it seems too fast or slow, I bought it to use on my grapple but never installed it.

Hi Brian - putting a restrictor in the tilt now to slow the speed? I have been thinking of adding a pilot operated check on mine because apparently my Kubota remote valve is leaky so it drifts down, and is load sensitive. Plowing put the highest load on the tilt so I uncoupled the hoses but that defeated the purpose. It's so nice to be able to tweak from the seat. Have you got any good suggestions for a check? I found a Prince model RD1450 that looks like it is just what I need but when I saw this thread I thought I would check with you before buying one. Thanks

I know that the 2" dia cylinders need something to slow them down. Harry, how do you feel about the speed that your top and tilt hydraulics move? Too fast, or are they are ok?

Harry, I'm sad to hear that your valve is leaking. :( By chance have you tried switching with your top link? Maybe that valve is in better shape.

As far as a DPOCV, I can't really recommend anything, I haven't really checked into them.:ashamed: I suppose that I should for the people that want them. Maybe next year.

Let us know how things work out.

With a valve, you could shut it right off, that would hold it, no?

I could shut it off with a flow control valve instead of uncoupling, but that still defeats the purpose of tilting from the seat. Pilot operated checks require pressurizing one side before oil can flow out the other side so the cylinder is locked until you command it to move. It is easier to manufacture a virtually zero leak check valve than it is to make a virtually zero leak spool valve.

Harry, have you tried swapping connections and use your top link valve? It may be in better shape and you wouldn't need to fool with anything else. I know that I had to rebuild my Prince valves on my smaller tractor, about an hour and 4-O rings later I was back in business and haven't had any problems since. ;)
